Helly Hansen and the National Alpine Ski Team extend partnership to 2030

Helly Hansen and the Norwegian Ski Federation’s alpine division are continuing their long-term partnership through to 2030. Following four years of collaboration, the partnership will be further developed with a continued focus on innovation and product development, storytelling and international brand building.
Helly Hansen became the official partner and clothing supplier for the national alpine ski team in 2022. The partnership was established with a long-term perspective and a shared ambition to combine Helly Hansen’s expertise in technical kit with insights gained from elite-level alpine skiing.
Since the beginning, the athletes have played an active role in Helly Hansen’s product development, getting involved early in the design process – often years before the products reach the market. During Spring training camps, the athletes test prototypes and provide specific feedback on everything from fit and length to the placement of pockets, zips and other technical details. The athletes' input provides Helly Hansen with valuable insights for developing products designed to perform under the demanding conditions of elite alpine skiing.
Lars Bolin, Marketing Manager for the Nordic region at Helly Hansen, comments, “The national alpine ski team is a vital partner for Helly Hansen. The athletes contribute directly to the development of our products and are a key reason why we are ‘Trusted by Professionals’ in the fields of skiing, sailing, outdoor activities and workwear. We look forward to continuing this strong partnership and representing Norwegian innovation on the global stage.”
At the same time, the partnership has provided both parties with an international platform for storytelling and brand building. The National Alpine Team’s global competitive arena offers opportunities to showcase stories about the sport, the people involved and the work behind the achievements to an international audience.
Helly Hansen also points to positive international sales growth in recent years, particularly within the ski category. Through this continued partnership, the company aims to build on this momentum and strengthen its international position in the ski sector.
Claus Johan Ryste, Alpine Director at the Norwegian Ski Federation, adds, “Four years into the collaboration, we know each other very well and have seen what we can achieve together. For us, it is valuable to have a partner that wants to invest in Norwegian alpine skiing for the long term and also has ambitions to further develop the partnership. We have many major sporting goals ahead of us in the coming years and look forward to continuing with Helly Hansen right up to 2030.”
The partnership has also received recognition beyond the sport of alpine skiing. In 2026, Helly Hansen was named Sponsor Profile of the Year by the Norwegian Sports Industry Association and Nye Stier. The jury highlighted, among other things, the natural connection between the brand and alpine skiing, the long-term nature of the collaboration, and how the partnership is actively used for innovation, product development, and brand building.
With four years of the partnership already behind them, Helly Hansen will continue as the official partner and clothing supplier for the national alpine team through 2030.
