Klaus Gleirscher appointed as new managing director of Stubai Tirol Tourism Association

The Stubai Tirol Tourism Association has appointed a successor at its top: Klaus Gleirscher, currently the association's marketing director, will take over as managing director on September 1, 2026. The native of Stubai succeeds Roland Volderauer, who led the region for 14 years.

The decision was made following a multi-stage selection process overseen by an external recruitment agency. From over 45 applications from German-speaking countries, Klaus Gleirscher emerged as the top candidate after the hearing. Based on this, the board of the tourism association unanimously voted in his favor.

A native of Neustift, Gleirscher is deeply rooted in the Stubai Valley and intimately familiar with the diverse responsibilities of the tourism association. His career with the Stubai Tirol Tourism Association began in 2012. Simultaneously, he completed his studies in Business Administration with a focus on Tourism and Leisure Management at the Management Center Innsbruck. Since then, Gleirscher has held various positions, overseeing and managing numerous key projects and developments for the association – including the Stubai Super Card, the ongoing development of the destination portal stubai.at, and tourism event and infrastructure projects. Since 2020, he has served as Head of Marketing, responsible for the strategic marketing of the destination.

“We conducted a professional, structured, and transparent selection process, from which Klaus Gleirscher emerged as the clear winner. During the hearing, he impressed us with a clear vision for the Stubai Tirol Tourism Association. He knows our region, our tourism association, and the concerns of our members like few others,” emphasizes Adrian Siller , Chairman of the Stubai Tirol Tourism Association, adding: “Klaus is taking over an excellently managed tourism association from Roland Volderauer, who implemented numerous important projects over 14 years and successfully positioned and developed the association. This combination of regional roots, many years of experience, and sound expertise is the ideal qualification for his new role.”

In his new role, Gleirscher aims to build on the successful developments of recent years while simultaneously setting new priorities in destination development: “I am very pleased with the trust placed in me by the tourism association and look forward to assuming responsibility for the entire organization. My special thanks go to Roland Volderauer, with whom I have enjoyed excellent collaboration for many years and from whom I am taking over a very well-positioned association. Together with our team, I want to continue this successful development and, at the same time, set new priorities.” He sees a particular focus on the qualitative development of the tourism offerings, regional value creation, and an active and proactive role for the tourism association.
