As previously announced, Philipp Holenstein, long-time director of Arosa Bergbahnen, will retire from the company at the end of 2026 at the age of 63, having led its operations since 2012. The board of directors has appointed Stefan Reichmuth as his successor. Reichmuth will join the company during October 2026, with the change in leadership taking effect on November 1, 2026. Philipp Holenstein will oversee the transition until December 31.

Stefan Reichmuth, 52, grew up in the canton of Graubünden, is a passionate snow sports enthusiast, and boasts an excellent track record with extensive industry experience. His career path has taken him through various large Graubünden companies such as GKB, RhB, and ÖKK, and previously to Arosa Bergbahnen AG, where from 2013 to 2023 he was successfully responsible for marketing and managing demanding projects for Arosa Lenzerheide, Graubünden's largest interconnected ski area. Throughout his career, he has held both line and staff positions. “The Board of Directors is delighted to have found a dynamic leader in Stefan Reichmuth, with a significant network and experience in the mountain railway industry, extensive knowledge of Arosa and Graubünden, and strong social skills, for the position of Managing Director. We are convinced that he will continue to positively shape the well-positioned company and, together with the management and the entire team, will consistently and proactively pursue the established strategy,” says Urs Marti, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arosa Bergbahnen.

The outgoing director, Philipp Holenstein, has significantly and exceptionally shaped the company over many years. Under his leadership, major projects were realized, and Arosa Bergbahnen was positioned as a modern, customer-focused mountain railway company. Together with Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG, he succeeded in the continuous and successful development of the ski area. The Board of Directors already expresses its gratitude for his extraordinary commitment and his great contributions to the long-established mountain railway company. His official farewell will take place at the end of 2026.
