Carrabassett Valley Academy (CVA) has announced the promotion of Kyle Hildebrand to the position of Alpine Youth Program Director, a strategic move designed to reinforce the academy's powerhouse development pipelines.
In this newly expanded leadership role, Hildebrand will serve as the Head U14 Alpine Coach for the Academy while simultaneously continuing to spearhead CVA's prominent Alpine Weekend Program. The dual directive positions him to seamlessly bridge the gap between the academy's weekend community and its full-time winter term student-athletes.
A Lifelong Legacy on the Snow
Hildebrand steps into the director role backed by an elite competitive pedigree and deep roots in the New England ski racing community. He refined his early racing skills as a student-athlete at the prestigious Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS) in Vermont. Following his academy career, Hildebrand transitioned to NCAA racing at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. While competing for the Bobcats, he earned three All-American honors and was named captain of the alpine team, cementing his reputation as both a high-performing athlete and a natural leader.
His transition behind the clipboard has been marked by a series of high-profile coaching and programmatic roles across the Eastern United States. Hildebrand's coaching resume includes leadership tenures with the Windham Mountain Club Racing program in New York, the renowned ELITEAM conditioning and skills camps, US Elite Camps, and his recent successful run managing the CVA Weekend Program.
Deeply Rooted in the Sugarloaf Community
Beyond his professional qualifications, Hildebrand’s appointment represents a deeply personal alignment with the culture of Carrabassett Valley and Sugarloaf Mountain.
He and his wife, Megan—herself a proud CVA alumna—are longtime fixtures of the local ski community. The family's ties to the institution have transitioned to the next generation, as they are the proud parents of two children currently enrolled as students at the academy.
"Kyle brings a lifelong passion for ski racing and athlete development to this position," CVA officials noted in a statement announcing the promotion. "We’re excited for what’s ahead under Kyle’s leadership. Congratulations, Kyle!"
Hildebrand will assume his expanded directorship duties immediately, beginning summer conditioning oversight and staff alignment strategies as CVA prepares its youth athletes for the upcoming winter racing schedule.
