KitzSki welcomes new apprentices
26/August/2026
The Kitzbühel Mountain Railway Company is pleased to welcome six new apprentices to the company. At the official start of their apprenticeships, the new team members were warmly welcomed together with the Kitzbühel Mountain Railway Company's board of directors, the apprenticeship supervisors and trainers, the operations managers, and the human resources department.
“Providing our young people with excellent training is very important to us, and we are naturally delighted that we receive such a positive response as a training company. The apprenticeship as a cable car technician is a practical and varied training program in a technically demanding environment. Anyone who successfully completes their apprenticeship at Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel possesses an outstanding qualification. If the collaboration is a good fit for both sides, we are happy to offer our graduates long-term career prospects within our company, because our qualified employees of today are the leaders of tomorrow,” explain KitzSki board members Anton Bodner and Christian Wörister.
During their apprenticeships, trainees learn the diverse tasks involved in the safe operation of modern cable car systems and are supported by experienced employees and instructors. In addition to broad technical expertise and practical experience in daily operations, great emphasis is placed on teamwork, a sense of responsibility, and personal development during the apprentices' training. The company is particularly proud of its specially designed "KitzSki Apprentice Weeks" in spring and autumn, which supplement vocational school.
To ensure the quality of its training, Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel has now limited the number of apprentices to 25. Most are training to become cable car technicians, while some opt for a dual apprenticeship in cable car and electrical engineering. In addition, one apprentice is being trained as an agricultural and construction machinery technician.
Last year, five apprentices successfully completed their training. Two employees also passed their final apprenticeship exams through continuing education programs. This underscores Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel's long-term commitment to training qualified professionals and fostering its own talent.
Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel wishes the new apprentices a successful start and looks forward to supporting them on their training journey and shaping the future of the company together.
