Alpenhof Hintertux expands wellness area to 4,000 m2
01/August/2026
With a wellness area expanded to a total of 4,000 m², a new adults-only spa, ten nature suites, and additional fitness and exercise facilities, the 4****S Alpenhof Hintertux has completed its latest expansion. The focus is on providing more space for relaxation, tranquility, and experiencing nature. The new areas complement the existing garden spa and expand the offerings with additional opportunities for retreat and activity.
Expansion with a focus on tranquility
Since June 2026, the Alpenhof Hintertux has boasted a significantly expanded infrastructure. The project included adding to existing offerings and creating new areas for relaxation, exercise, and privacy. At the same time, the hotel's established structure was preserved, and its close connection to the surrounding mountains was consciously maintained. The project was implemented while the hotel remained open and required close coordination between planning, construction, and operations.
“ Challenges accompany every construction project – just like life itself. A construction site doesn't come with an instruction manual, and neither does life. That's why every day is a new challenge ,” Klaus Dengg describes the implementation of the project.
A key component was the redesign of the wellness area. In addition to the existing garden spa, a new adults-only spa for guests aged 18 and over was created, featuring additional relaxation and recreation areas.

Ten new nature suites
As part of the expansion, ten new nature suites were created. These suites, approximately 50 m² in size, feature separate living and sleeping areas, Swiss pine wood elements, a loggia, and views of the surrounding mountains. The Nature Family Suites, at approximately 70 m², additionally offer a separate children's room, two bathrooms, and spacious living areas for families.
More room for movement
The range of activities has also been expanded. A modern panoramic fitness studio and a dedicated yoga and movement room complement the offerings. Guided hikes and e-bike tours through the Tux Valley continue to be available in the summer. The location at the foot of the Hintertux Glacier provides ideal conditions for hiking, summit tours, and other activities in the alpine environment.
Culinary arts as an integral part
Culinary delights remain an integral part of the overall concept. Under the direction of Maximilian Stock, the Alpenhof combines regional products with modern interpretations. The cuisine has been awarded a Michelin star, as well as accolades from Gault & Millau and Falstaff.
With the expansion, the Alpenhof Hintertux creates additional spaces for relaxation, exercise, and privacy. The new wellness area, modern suites, and complementary activity offerings carefully develop the existing concept and strengthen the connection between alpine nature, high-quality infrastructure, and genuine hospitality.
