SWISS and SBB launch Air Rail service to Grindelwald - book London to Grindelwald direct
27/April/2026
SWISS is further expanding its Air Rail offering by adding Grindelwald as a new destination. In collaboration with SBB and Jungfrau Railways, international air travellers can now reach the heart of the Bernese Alps even more easily.
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) are continuing to systematically expand their successful SWISS Air Rail network. Following the addition of Interlaken in December 2022, SWISS is now extending its offering in the Bernese Oberland to include Grindelwald. This expansion is made possible through a new partnership with Jungfrau Railways, which operate the rail connection between Interlaken and Grindelwald.
The new connection is available immediately. Tickets for the new destination can be booked from today, 26 March, via swiss.com or at any travel agency.
Heike Birlenbach, Chief Customer Officer of SWISS, says: “Grindelwald and the Jungfrau region represent what many international guests associate with Switzerland: breathtaking alpine landscapes, unspoiled nature, and authentic Swiss experiences. The appeal is correspondingly strong – a large proportion of our guests come from abroad, particularly from the UK, the USA, and Asia. Our long-haul network connects directly here, bringing the world even closer to this region.”
Remo Käser, Head of Marketing & Sales at Jungfrau Railways, adds: “The Jungfrau region and the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe – rank among Switzerland’s most visited destinations. We are delighted that international guests can now travel even more comfortably, feel at home in this unique mountain landscape from the very start, and easily discover the highlights of the Jungfrau region.”
With this expansion, the SWISS Air Rail network now comprises a total of 25 destinations across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.
