An Unforgettable Winter Season Awaits at The Capra, Saas-Fee
22/September/2026
The Capra, a luxury alpine spa and wellness retreat in the car-free resort of Saas-Fee, invites guests this winter to discover the magic of one of Switzerland's most breathtaking mountain destinations, for a season unlike any other.
Skiing
Perched at 1,800 metres and powered entirely by renewable energy, Saas-Fee is framed by 18 peaks over four thousand metres and a magnificent north-facing glacier, ensuring some of the most reliable snowfall in the Alps. A training ground for Olympic alpine athletes and a haven for leisure skiers alike, the resort offers 150km of pistes for all abilities, with cable cars ascending to 3,600 metres, including access to The Dom, the tallest mountain to rise entirely within Switzerland's borders.
The Capra takes the effort out of planning, arranging everything from ski passes and equipment hire to private lessons with certified instructors from Skizenit. Each morning begins at the Capra Ski Cabin at the foot of the slopes, just a ten-minute walk or a short electric taxi ride from the hotel.

The Capra Valais Ski Safari
For those who want to explore beyond the slopes of Saas-Fee, The Capra's Valais Ski Safari is an exceptional way to experience the breadth of one of Switzerland's great ski regions. The Canton of Valais encompasses over 2,000km of pistes across 34 resorts, stretching from internationally renowned ski areas to hidden valleys known only to those in the know.
Each safari is led by a vetted, Swiss-certified mountain guide who takes care of every detail, from daily itinerary planning and terrain selection to restaurant recommendations and transfers. Designed for groups of one to five, the experience is fully customisable, with equipment available to hire in Saas-Fee and ski passes arranged in advance or on the morning of departure.
Travelling Sustainably to the Alps
This winter brings an exciting new way to reach the mountains. To mark its 10th anniversary, Magic Pass is integrating public transport directly into the resort experience. From 1 November 2026 to 30 April 2027, all Magic Pass holders will receive five public transport credits included in their subscription at no additional cost, a practical, sustainable alternative to travelling by car, developed in partnership with Alliance SwissPass and RailAway. Credits are fully integrated into the Magic Pass app and bookable up to seven days in advance.
Saas-Fee is also a proud participant in the Protect Our Winters "Enjoy the Ride" campaign, which challenges the winter sports community to rethink how they travel to the mountains. Participants log their public transport journeys, collectively working towards a target of 5,000km travelled by rail and public transport, the length of Switzerland's entire railway network.
What's On and What's New
This season's events calendar is one of the most exciting, with highlights including the Ice Climbing World Cup, the Allalin Races, Snow'n Sound, the 12 Hours Race & Mentality Games and the Moonlight Fight.
About The Capra
Just 2.5 hours from Geneva, Zurich and Milan by car, The Capra sits at the heart of Saas-Fee, placing guests at the centre of village life while offering a sanctuary of refined alpine luxury.
Awarded two Michelin Guide Keys in 2025 and ranked #5 in the Wellness Hotels category of 'Switzerland's 150 Best Hotels', The Capra is recognised as one of the country's finest boutique hotels. Every detail, from the thoughtfully curated interiors to the warmth of the team, reflects the hotel's deep commitment to delivering an exceptional and authentic alpine experience.
At the heart of The Capra's philosophy is a belief that true wellness begins when you strip it back to its essentials, reconnecting with nature, nourishing the body with honest food, moving in the mountain air and sleeping deeply. In partnership with Peak Health, The Capra's retreat programme offers an immersive, science-led approach to wellbeing that delivers lasting results across energy, sleep, mental focus and overall health, without calorie restriction or over-exertion. Instead, guests are guided towards sustainable habits that stay with them long after they leave the Alps.
Winter Retreats combine restorative spa treatments, high-altitude hikes, daily yoga and freshly prepared alpine cuisine, for skiers and non-skiers alike. Family Retreats are also available on specific weeks throughout the year, with bespoke programmes for children including glacier hikes, the adventure forest ropes course, a fairy-tail trail, a petting zoo, tobogganing, healthy workshops and free time in The Capra's Fun Lab.
