RUDY PROJECT INTRODUCES BASED: HERITAGE INSPIRATION MEETS ACTIVE LIFESTYLE

Rudy Project expands its Active Lifestyle range with Based, a new pair of sunglasses designed for everyday wear, featuring a distinctive alien-eye silhouette, bold colour combinations and an exceptionally lightweight construction.

For the design, Rudy Project also drew inspiration from its archives, thanks to its 40 years of history, revisiting vintage eyewear shapes and reinterpreting them through contemporary proportions and details. The rounded yet defined silhouette is the most distinctive feature of Based, complemented by the frame’s spray-paint finishes. The different frame and lens combinations allow for a range of configurations, each with its own distinct identity.

Based brings elements of Rudy Project’s sports-driven design approach into everyday use. Designed for versatility, it is suited to everyday wear, running and other physical activities.

EIGHT COLOURWAYS AND A LIMITED EDITION

The Based range is available in eight variants, offering different frame and lens combinations. The collection includes configurations with category 3 RP Optics and Polar 3FX lenses, as well as versions featuring mirrored and gradient lenses.

The versions featuring Multilaser lenses are among the collection’s most distinctive features. Among these, the combination of a silver frame and an Orange lens stands out for its striking colour contrast.

The collection also includes a version with a black polarised lens.

Alongside the collection’s other variants, Rudy Project offers a purple special edition, available exclusively through the brand’s online store.

RILSAN FRAME AND LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION

• Based features a frame made of Rilsan, a polymer derived from castor oil. This material makes the frame extremely durable, lightweight and flexible. Despite its bold proportions, the sunglasses weigh just 31 grams.

• The lenses feature a Base 6 geometry, contributing to the sunglasses’ compact shape.

Based is available now, with suggested retail prices ranging from €119.90 to €159.90, depending on the configuration.
