Arc’teryx’s Postour Boot turns après-ski into a two-part system

A waterproof insulated overboot for snowy walks; a removable slipper for inside the lodge. Arc’teryx’s Fall/Winter 2026 Postour is designed for the hours after skiing, when cold feet and icy paths can make recovery feel like another expedition.

Ski boots come off, but the day in the mountains is not always over. There may be a walk back to the chalet, a trip outside to clear snow, or a few more steps across an icy car park. Arc’teryx is targeting that in-between territory with the Postour Boot, a new two-in-one design that pairs a protective outer boot with a removable insulated inner slipper.

Arc’teryx is expanding its winter footwear lineup with the launch of the new Postour Boot, a versatile 2-in-1 recovery boot designed for skiers, mountaineers and winter adventurers who need warmth, protection and comfort before and after time in the mountains. The new model reflects a growing trend in outdoor footwear, where brands are increasingly focusing on recovery products that bridge the gap between technical performance and everyday usability.

The introduction of the Postour Boot comes as the outdoor industry continues to broaden its definition of technical footwear. Recovery footwear has become an increasingly important category, particularly among winter athletes and backcountry users who seek warmth and support after long periods in ski boots, mountaineering boots or snowboard boots. Arc’teryx’s latest offering aims to address this demand with a product capable of moving seamlessly between frozen outdoor environments and indoor recovery settings.

The Fall/Winter 2026 release combines a waterproof outer boot with a fully removable insulated slipper, creating a system that can be worn both outdoors in harsh winter conditions and indoors after a day on the snow. According to Arc’teryx, the concept is aimed at users transitioning from demanding alpine environments to the comfort of lodges, huts or base camps.

At the heart of the design is a removable slipper featuring PrimaLoft insulation and a dedicated grip outsole, allowing it to function independently when users are indoors. The outer boot incorporates a Vibram Arctic Grip outsole, a technology widely recognised within the outdoor industry for providing improved traction on icy surfaces. The lug pattern is also engineered to enhance grip in snow and softer terrain.

Arc’teryx describes the Postour as a “recovery tool” as much as a boot, targeting those moments after a long day skiing, mountaineering or travelling through winter conditions. The company says the high-cut overboot uses GORE-TEX Invisible Fit technology and a cinching collar designed to seal out deep snow, while PrimaLoft insulation in both the boot and slipper helps maintain warmth in a variety of environments.

Durability has also been a key focus. Expanded TPU protection wraps around the boot to provide reinforcement against abrasion and impacts, while the waterproof textile upper is treated without added PFCs. Additional comfort features include a drop-in PU sockliner, wool lining and shearling top cloth integrated into the removable slipper.

In full-boot mode, the Postour combines a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane with a high collar that cinches closed to help keep snow out. Its Vibram Arctic Grip outsole is designed to improve traction on ice, while the lugged tread is intended for snow and other soft surfaces. The boot’s insulation is designed to retain warmth both outdoors and indoors.

Inside, the removable slipper can be worn on its own. It has its own insulation and a grippy TPU outsole, giving the wearer a warmer, more substantial alternative to walking around in socks after taking off the outer boot. That removable layer is the product’s clearest point of difference: rather than asking one shoe to serve every setting, the Postour separates protection for the elements from comfort indoors.

The concept responds to a familiar post-ski problem: resort footwear often has to move between cold, wet ground and warm indoor spaces. Arc’teryx positions the boot for recovery after skiing, splitboarding and other snow activities—not as technical footwear for skiing itself. Its description emphasizes trips around base camp and downtime after a day outside.

Available in multiple colourways for both men and women, the Postour Boot will form part of the Arc’teryx Fall/Winter 2026 collection. With its combination of premium insulation, weather protection and dual-purpose functionality, the new model is positioned to appeal to skiers and mountain professionals looking for a comfortable alternative once the lifts stop turning and the day’s adventure comes to an end.
