MB Sportswear Takes Over Salomon Snowboard Distribution in Switzerland
10/October/2026
MB Sportswear GmbH has taken responsibility for the Swiss distribution of Salomon snowboards, as the French mountain-sports brand looks to strengthen its position in one of Europe’s most important winter-sports markets.
The new arrangement began on 1 October 2026, with MB Sportswear appointed by Salomon’s parent company, Amer Sports. Its remit covers both the support of existing specialist retail partners and the further development of Salomon Snowboarding across Switzerland.
The appointment gives Salomon a distribution partner with established relationships across Switzerland’s action-sports and outdoor retail sectors. Founded in 2009 by Micha Bucher, MB Sportswear describes itself as a Swiss sales agency and master agency representing brands across action sports, lifestyle and urban outdoor. Its portfolio spans snowboarding, skateboarding, surf, BMX, running and outdoor products.
Rather than treating the change as a simple handover of orders and logistics, the companies are presenting it as a market-development partnership. MB Sportswear will work with existing dealers while seeking to broaden Salomon Snowboarding’s reach through a regional sales structure, specialist product support and closer retailer relationships.
That local approach is particularly relevant in Switzerland, where the snowboard market stretches across distinct language regions and a wide range of resort communities. A distribution model organised around regional account management can help retailers receive more targeted support, while also allowing the brand to respond more closely to local buying patterns and resort cultures.
Kaspar Kupferschmid will manage specialist retail customers in central and eastern Switzerland from the start of the partnership. Jeremy Bucher is scheduled to join the team on 1 December 2026, taking responsibility for central and western Switzerland. The division gives MB Sportswear dedicated coverage across the country rather than relying on a single national contact.
The move also brings Salomon Snowboarding into a broader MB Sportswear network. The company says its sales team has more than two decades of experience and works with wholesale partners through brand-specific go-to-market strategies, established market segmentation and tailored sales support.
A key part of the offer will be access to showrooms for collection presentations and individual retailer appointments. MB Sportswear operates its own facilities in Brügg near Biel and at House 9 in Glattbrugg. Salomon showrooms in Aigle and Hagendorn will also be available, giving dealers in different parts of the country opportunities to view collections and discuss their requirements in person.
The showroom network reflects the importance of face-to-face selling in technical winter sports. Snowboards, boots, bindings and apparel often require product knowledge and careful selection, while retailers need to understand the differences between models, intended riding styles and seasonal ranges before committing to stock.
For Salomon, the change comes within a wider period of expansion and investment across Amer Sports. The group’s portfolio includes Salomon, Atomic, Arc’teryx, Wilson, Peak Performance and Armada, and its brands are sold in more than 100 countries. Amer Sports reported revenue of $6.6 billion for 2025 and says it operates in 40 countries with more than 15,400 employees.
Salomon remains one of the group’s core mountain-sports brands, with its headquarters in Annecy, France, surrounded by terrain used for testing skiing, snowboarding, trail-running and hiking products. The brand’s identity is built around mountain performance, but its commercial strategy also increasingly depends on specialist retail, direct consumer engagement and a strong community presence.
The Swiss distribution agreement gives MB Sportswear responsibility specifically for Salomon snowboards, while Amer Sports will continue to handle general customer-service matters such as deliveries, availability, returns and administrative enquiries. Sales, training and order-related questions will be handled by the MB Sportswear team.
The partners are planning to introduce the new structure to retailers during Sports Days on 30 November and 1 December 2026. The event will provide an early opportunity for dealers to meet the new contacts, view the collections and discuss sales, training and ordering arrangements ahead of the winter season.
The timing is significant. With the 2026–27 snowboard season approaching, retailers are finalising ranges and preparing for demand from both core riders and consumers returning to the sport. A smooth transition will therefore be important: existing dealers will expect continuity, while Salomon will want the new partnership to deliver stronger visibility and broader market coverage.
For MB Sportswear, the appointment adds a major international snowboard name to a portfolio already rooted in action sports. For Salomon and Amer Sports, it provides a specialist Swiss partner with local relationships, dedicated personnel and showroom infrastructure.
The immediate priority will be to ensure a seamless handover. The longer-term ambition is more substantial: to use local expertise and stronger regional coverage to give Salomon Snowboarding a larger and more influential role in Switzerland’s specialist retail market.
