Serre Chevalier Expands Summer Activity Offering Across Its High-Altitude Domain

From 20 June to 30 August 2026, Serre Chevalier’s high-altitude domain will open its ski lifts, providing access to a wide range of activities: adrenaline-fuelled experiences such as the giant zip line and bike park, family hiking trails, and electric scooter rides for a unique way to explore the forest. The major new attraction this summer is a fun adventure trail opening in August, featuring a series of giant slides and a suspended footbridge!

A gradual opening of the lifts

The Casse du Bœuf chairlift (Villeneuve sector) will be the first to open, providing access from Saturday 20 June to 70% of the Serre Chevalier Bike Park.

From Saturday 27 June, the Ratier gondola, the Chantemerle cable car, and the Combes and Grand Serre chairlifts (Chantemerle sector) will give visitors access to the giant zip line, mountain kart and downhill scooter tracks, the via ferrata, and guided electric scooter excursions.

On Saturday 4 July, the Prorel gondola will take hikers to the trails and picnic area at Croix de la Nore, equipped with barbecue grills, picnic tables and telescopes for a summit barbecue experience. A second picnic area is also available in the Chantemerle sector at Grand Alpe. The Bachas chairlift in the Monêtier sector will complete the summer offering, providing access to hiking trails and a via ferrata route.

All ski lifts will close on Sunday 30 August.

Adrenaline at high altitude!

The lifts allow visitors of all ages to discover the high-altitude domain and enjoy activities above 2,000 metres: hiking trails, via ferrata routes, the giant zip line (1,100 metres of aerial descent at speeds approaching 100 km/h), mountain karts (three-wheeled, non-motorised downhill vehicles), electric and downhill scooters, the bike park, the “Camp des Marmottes” children's area, barbecue picnic areas and mountain restaurants. Together they offer countless opportunities to enjoy the mountains at their very best.

The bike park features 11 trails for all ability levels (2 green, 6 blue, 2 red and 1 black), served by 8 ski lifts. A new route will be introduced this summer.

The lifts also provide access to two via ferrata routes. The Rocher Blanc via ferrata can be reached from the top of the Chantemerle cable car and offers two different itineraries. The Bachas chairlift leads to the Neyzets via ferrata on the Monêtier side, which is longer but with no technical difficulty.

A new adventure trail opening in August!

A brand-new fun adventure trail will open in August in the Chantemerle sector of the high-altitude domain.

Starting from the arrival point of the zip line / Grand Alpe picnic area, this 1.5 km route with 300 metres of descent will lead visitors to the Ratier plateau via an 80-metre-long suspended footbridge and a succession of giant slides.

Along the trail, modern, visual and interactive displays will reveal the local flora and fauna, as well as the secrets of the valley and its natural environment. Suitable for children from 1.10 metres tall.

Spotlight on Electric Scooter Excursions

Electric all-terrain scooter tours offer a fun and environmentally friendly way to discover mountain trails. Each outing is led by a qualified and passionate instructor who adapts the route to participants’ abilities and guides them along some of the most beautiful trails in the high-altitude domain, through larch forests, alpine meadows and spectacular viewpoints overlooking the Écrins massif.

Along the way, guides share local stories, practical tips and fascinating insights into the region’s wildlife, flora and history. New routes will be available from this summer (minimum age 14, minimum height 1.40 m).
