Kitzbühel Mountain Railway AG presented an extremely successful balance sheet. KitzSki increased its visitor numbers once again, developed positively economically, and set important impulses for the future.
At the 99th Annual General Meeting of Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel, at the K3 KitzKongress, the company looked back on a successful 2024/25 financial year. "Despite challenging economic conditions, rising costs in many areas, and ongoing uncertainties in both national and international markets, KitzSki was able to further consolidate its position as one of the leading tourism companies in the region," said Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mayor Dr. Klaus Winkler.
Both the winter and summer business developed very positively: With around 1.42 million first-time visitors in winter and well over 300,000 guests in summer, KitzSki recorded significant increases compared to the previous year.
The company's financial performance reflects this positive demand: Revenue exceeded €70 million for the first time, reaching over €72 million. The 2024/25 financial year concluded with a net profit of approximately €2.5 million. "This positive development demonstrates that we can grow even in a challenging economic environment while simultaneously investing consistently in the future. Our special thanks go to our employees, whose daily commitment is a key factor in this success. We also extend our sincere gratitude to our loyal guests and our numerous partners in the region," emphasized Managing Directors Anton Bodner and Christian Wörister.
Overall, the company continued to invest strategically in sustainable infrastructure, improved quality, and important future projects. For example, the new staff accommodation building at the Hahnenkamm cable car station, with 60 residential units, was completed.
During the reporting year, particular emphasis was placed on further measures to optimize the snowmaking systems, and work began on the key Sonnenrast reservoir project. Preparations also commenced for another major project: the construction of a new parking garage at the Fleckalmbahn cable car.
KitzSki continues to expand its summer offerings. A significant step in this process was the construction of the Kirchberg Trail. At approximately ten kilometers long, it is now the longest flow trail in Tyrol and enhances the options for both locals and visitors.
Employees as a key success factor:
In the 2024/25 financial year, the company employed an average of 347 people, including 21 apprentices. Investments in modern workplaces, training and professional development opportunities, and the targeted promotion of young professionals are intended to further strengthen its position as an attractive employer. "Today's apprentices secure the future of our company," emphasizes CEO Anton Bodner.
Significant steps have also been taken in the area of sustainability. By participating in the Global Sustainability Ski Alliance as the only ski resort in Austria and preparing for EMAS certification, the company is consistently pursuing its path towards ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable development.
“The positive development of the 2024/25 financial year confirms KitzSki’s long-term strategy and shows that the company is excellently positioned both economically and strategically to successfully master the challenges of the coming years,” concluded Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mayor Dr. Klaus Winkler.
