Hochoetz mountain lifts open Austria's first floating climbing park

Austria's first floating climbing park opened in Hochoetz on June 4, 2026. The diverse obstacles, located directly on the reservoir near the Acherkogelbahn mountain station, offer uncomplicated ninja fun for all skill levels. Visitors can test the course for free and enjoy a varied program of events during the open house.

The spectacular jumping, climbing, and balancing acts are familiar from TV shows like "Ninja Warrior Germany." Starting this summer, a family-friendly version of a ninja course awaits visitors in Hochoetz – in a unique location at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. The course consists of modular elements arranged over the water like a low ropes course. Anyone who fails to complete an obstacle lands safely in the reservoir – equipped with a wetsuit and life jacket. "Similar climbing parks already exist in England, Germany, and the USA. However, the Hochoetz Ninja Park is unique in Austria and at this altitude," explains Philipp Falkner, authorized signatory of the Sölden mountain lifts. The combination of the alpine setting, the fun challenge, and the refreshingly cold mountain water makes the course a truly original outdoor experience. It's perfect for families, friends, or groups of all kinds, from school classes and club outings to incentive trips.

Safe ninja fun for young and old

This offer is aimed at anyone who wants to try ninja sports in an accessible way. After instruction from qualified guides, a maximum of 30 participants at a time can move freely through the park. For easy orientation, the elements, similar to ski slopes, are divided into three difficulty levels using colored markings. And even if a jump goes awry, a quick dip in the water is all part of the fun. Wetsuits and life jackets are included in the ticket price. Those who don't bring their own sturdy footwear can purchase neoprene shoes on site. Anyone aged 8 and up, at least 1.20 meters tall, and able to swim at least 25 meters is welcome to participate. The maximum weight is 120 kilograms.

Attractive combination tickets for train and park

Ninja Park Hochoetz is easily accessible via the Acherkogelbahn cable car from Oetz and the Ochsengartenbahn cable car. Tickets, available online, cost €19 for adults and €11.50 for children (born between 2012 and 2018). Combination tickets including the cable car ride are available from €35 and €21 respectively, and groups of 10 or more receive a discount. To guarantee maximum climbing fun for all ninjas, entry times are limited: a time slot can be booked at 10:00, 12:00, or 14:00. Please allow a total of 2 hours for check-in, 60 minutes of climbing fun, and check-out.

Ideal for a day trip from all over Tyrol

Nestled within the family-friendly range of activities around the Acherkogel mountain station, the Hochoetz Ninja Park can be combined with other attractions for a fun-filled day on the mountain. In addition to the newly renovated and expanded play stations of the WIDIVERSUM, themed trails to the surrounding mountain huts, the Rosskopf via ferrata, and, as a reward after the ninja fun, a visit to the terrace of the panoramic restaurant await.
