New forest slide adventure trail opens in Zugspitzpark Ehrwald
06/July/2026
With the opening of the Zugspitzpark in Ehrwald, the new forest slide adventure trail was also officially opened. Located directly at the foot of the Zugspitze, this creates an exceptional leisure activity that innovatively combines hiking and sliding.
Six stainless steel slides, manufactured by us, lead down through the forest to the valley station along a family-friendly hiking trail. Visitors first reach the mountain station comfortably via the Wetterstein cable car and then experience the descent as a varied combination of exercise and fun. The individual slides are distributed along the entire trail and offer different experiences – from enclosed tube slides and open trough slides to wave slides and a family racer. The entire facility comprises approximately 170 meters of slides.
A particular highlight right at the start is the approximately 36-meter-long tube slide with a height difference of about 14 meters, marking the entrance to the adventure trail. Further along, hiking sections and slide sections alternate – a concept that appeals especially to families and makes the trail itself an adventure.
Even during the construction phase, the project attracted attention when parts of the slides were installed on the hillside by helicopter. Today, the forest slide park is a central component of the new Zugspitzpark, which, with additional offerings such as bike trails and nature experiences, sustainably strengthens summer tourism in the region.
The stainless steel slides installed in Ehrwald once again demonstrate the potential that lies in the combination of well-thought-out construction and innovative experience concepts – and how classic hiking opportunities can be further developed into modern leisure attractions.
The Zugspitzpark in Ehrwald is a new adventure park in the Tyrolean Zugspitze Arena, which officially opened on 17 May 2026. Located at the Ehrwalder Wettersteinbahnen lifts directly at the foot of the Zugspitze, the facility combines action, mountain biking, and family fun in the heart of nature.
