Nature Adventure Kids in St. Michael – New children's program of the Wipptal Family Weeks in summer 2026
14/April/2026
As part of the Wipptal Family Weeks, a new childcare program will launch in St. Michael in the summer of 2026: With the "Nature Adventure Kids," the Wipptal Tourism Association, in cooperation with the St. Michael Alpin Retreat, is creating a diverse program aimed at both guests and locals. The focus will be on physical activity, experiencing nature, creativity, and social learning.
From July 6th to September 4th, 2026, children aged approximately 5 to 12 years will experience shared adventures in and with nature on three half-days per week. This program is aimed at families who value nature-based, active, and meaningful childcare.
"Experience instead of consume"
The program follows the principle of "experiencing rather than consuming." Children learn through hands-on activities, free exploration, and guided adventures. This approach specifically fosters a connection to nature, motor skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and creativity. At the same time, the program teaches a mindful approach to the environment and resources.
The weekly program is clearly structured and sets a different focus for each appointment:
Monday, 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: "Noah the Bear and the Forest Adventure"
Together with Noah, the friendly guardian of the forest, the children embark on an exciting journey of discovery. The afternoon combines physical activity, learning about nature, and imaginative games.
Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: "Forest Olympics & Raft Building"
Here, team spirit, exercise, and water fun take center stage. Together, participants will overcome challenges, build structures, play games, and gain new experiences.
Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: "Creative Workshop & Campfire Time"
Small works of art will be created from collected natural materials as souvenirs to take home. The workshop concludes with roasting bread on sticks around the campfire. Plans are in place for changeable weather conditions: In case of storms, thunderstorms, or extreme weather, a prepared indoor program will be offered. This includes indoor versions of games and activities, knot tying lessons, and an expanded craft workshop.
Noah the Bear invites the nature adventure kids in the Wipptal valley to playful discoveries in the forest, water and nature.
Participation costs €10 per half-day without a guest card or €8 with a guest card. Information and registration are available online at: www.wipptal.at/erlebnisshop/erlebnisse .
With the nature adventure kids, the Wipptal family weeks expand their offerings to include a nature-based holiday program for children and create an additional summer offer for families in St. Michael.
