Bergisel was awarded the title of “Most family-friendly business in Tyrol

Top sporting achievements and excellent gastronomy are commonplace at Innsbruck's Bergisel ski resort. Now, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) has also been recognized for its outstanding corporate culture and social responsibility.

Tourism and hospitality are not generally considered prime examples when it comes to family-friendly working conditions. However, Bergisel Betriebsgesellschaft mbH in Innsbruck proves that it can be done very differently. The company, which operates the historic Bergisel Stadium , the Restaurant 1809 at the Tirol Panorama on Bergisel, and the spectacular Bergisel Sky restaurant in the tower, was awarded the title of "Most Family-Friendly Company in Tyrol 2025" in the state competition. The coveted prize was awarded in the category "Private companies with 21 to 100 employees".

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Ski Austria and manager of one of Tyrol's most famous landmarks, the company bears not only tourist and gastronomic responsibility, but above all social responsibility.

Family-friendliness is not just written down here, but is a daily lived part of the company culture.

To manage the balancing act between the demands of the catering industry and the family life of the employees, the team at Bergisel relies on concrete measures: flexible working time models, special consideration in the design of the duty roster, targeted support for re-entry after parental leave, and always open communication on equal terms.
