From the leisurely Stubai Cycle Route to the action-packed Kirchberg Trail and the floating Ninja Park in Hochoetz, all the way to "Moments Tirol" – Tyrol's new brand and experience world in Innsbruck: Tyrol is launching into summer 2026 with numerous new offerings for hikers, cyclists, climbing enthusiasts, families, and culture lovers. Whether in the mountains or right in the heart of the city – the diverse range of activities once again makes Tyrol a multifaceted adventure destination for all ages and abilities.

New Star Hike “Emperor's Blossom” · Wilder Kaiser

The new Star Hike “Emperor's Blossom” in the Wilder Kaiser region comprises six stages totaling 76 kilometers and 5,050 meters of elevation gain. The tours are designed for hikers with some mountain experience and a reasonable level of fitness, and follow easy to moderately difficult hiking and mountain trails. Overnight stays are in comfortable hotels in the valley, eliminating the hassle of carrying luggage. Free transportation options such as hiking buses and the Kaiserjet cable car are also available.

New Digital Storytelling Trails · Fügen-Kaltenbach Holiday Region

In the Hochzillertal and Hochfügen hiking areas, new interactive trails offer playful nature experiences at eight to ten stations each. The "Four Alpine Pastures Hike" tells a three- to four-hour storyline about the traditional cattle drive down from the mountain pastures, while the "Hubertus Wildlife Trail" along the Zillertal High Alpine Road provides fascinating insights into the animal world in one and a half to two hours. Both trails are available in versions for children and adults.

SkyRide Ahorn: Open-air gondola at 2,000 meters · Mayrhofen-Hippach The SkyRide Ahorn

, Austria's largest cable car, recently opened in Mayrhofen , bringing an alpine open-air feeling directly to the mountain. The spectacular gondola not only provides easy access to panoramic viewpoints, but also transforms the ascent itself into an experience with unobstructed views over the Zillertal valley in its convertible gondola.

Katzenkopf Circular Hike · Seefeld Region – Tyrol's High Plateau

A new, easy 8.5-kilometer circular hike with 285 meters of elevation gain leads from the center of Leutasch around the Katzenkopf mountain in the Seefeld region. The route follows the path of the new high-altitude cross-country ski trail , which also serves as a forest road and is now part of the circular route. A stop at the Katzenkopfhütte mountain hut offers an opportunity for rest and refreshments along the way.

Stubai Cycle Route 19: A Family-Friendly and Enjoyable Route · Stubai Valley

A new highlight for cyclists is the Stubai Cycle Route 19 , which stretches for approximately 40 kilometers from Schönberg to Falbeson through the valley floor of the Stubai Valley and offers an easy, family-friendly route without any major climbs. Numerous stops, such as the Klaus Äuele Kids Park, climbing walls, and zip-line stations, provide variety, and inns along the route invite cyclists to stop for refreshments. With the connecting route 19a, a continuous cycle connection to the provincial capital of Innsbruck is created.

New cycling and hiking trail connection Langkampfen · Kufstein region:

From summer 2026, a 4.6-kilometer section over the Drei-Brunnen-Joch pass will extend the existing cycling and hiking trail network in the Kufstein region . For the first time, it will create a continuous connection from the Tyrolean lowlands to the Bavarian trail network and open up new, cross-border routes from Schliersee and Tegernsee to Lake Achensee. The Pendling mountain, known for its panoramic views, will also be directly accessible via the new route.

Kirchberg Trail: Tyrol's Longest Flow Trail · Kitzbühel Alps – Brixental Valley

With the opening of the new Kirchberg Trail on June 6, 2026, Kirchberg in the Kitzbühel Alps expands its mountain biking offerings with a key project. Around ten kilometers of newly constructed trail sections, complemented by existing connections, create a continuous top-to-bottom flow trail – the longest in Tyrol. The easy to intermediate trail is being built according to clear, environmentally friendly trail construction standards and is enhanced by wooden walkways, rest areas, and viewpoints.

New biking opportunities in Paznaun · Paznaun-Ischgl:

With new trails and tours, Paznaun-Ischgl is strengthening its position as a versatile biking destination . In Ischgl, the blue Höllkar Trail adds to the offerings with six kilometers of trail fun and 1,189 meters of descent from the Flimjochbahn to the Silvrettabahn. The new high-alpine connection SUR TUOT / DAVO DIEU between Ischgl and Scuol (28 kilometers, black) presents a challenging route, crossing four mountain passes. In Galtür, the beginner-friendly Kli Zeinis Trail and the more technically demanding Birkhahn Trail expand the trail network. Additionally, new bike-and-hike routes to the Bürkelkopf, Berglisee, and Madleinsee, as well as attractive e-MTB tours in Kappl, create further diverse options combining enjoyment, panoramic views, and sporting challenges.

New Mountain Bike Trail to the Karlalm · Mayrhofen-Hippach

A new section of MTB tour 458 Labergalm will soon complement the regional bike network in Mayrhofen and offer challenging terrain for mountain bikers. The environmentally friendly trail, rated black (difficult), connects Ramsau via Hippach to the Karlalm in the Zillertal valley over approximately ten kilometers and 1,156 meters of elevation gain.

Pumptrack and Ninja Park Grän · Tannheimer Valley

A pumptrack and a ninja park will be available at the Grän Funpark in the Tannheimer Valley starting in summer 2026. The pumptrack offers routes for all skill levels – from easy sections for balance bikes to challenging courses for experienced riders. Right next to it, the new ninja park provides a variety of play options for fitness, coordination, strength, endurance, and agility. Both attractions are located directly on the bike path and are freely accessible.

New Mutzkopf Trail · Tyrolean Oberland – Nauders Adventure Area

A blue mountain bike trail called the "Moods Trail" is being built on the Mutzkopf mountain in the Tyrolean Oberland region . The 3.7-kilometer trail runs from the mountain station down to the valley and is suitable for less experienced bikers. The trail expands the region's biking options and provides family-friendly downhill riding opportunities.

From summer 2026, the Bike Park Zugspitze on the Wetterstein mountain in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena will open, offering trail enthusiasts three new lines for riding fun for all ages. With a flow trail and a thrilling high-speed experience, the park caters to all skill levels. A highlight for experienced bikers is the completely hand-built black trail "Bare Knuckle".

Ninja Park Hochoetz: Austria's first water climbing park · Ötztal Valley.

In summer 2026, Ninja Park Hochoetz in the Ötztal Valley will open as the first facility of its kind in Austria. The floating structure consists of modular climbing elements arranged over the water like a low ropes course. Various difficulty levels offer fun and action for children from six years old, teenagers, and adults – anyone who fails an obstacle lands safely in the lake. Combination tickets include the cable car ride up and down the mountain with admission to the Ninja Park.

Pfaffenbichl Via Ferrata · Fügen-Kaltenbach Holiday Region

The new Pfaffenbichl via ferrata enhances the mountain experience in Hochfügen in the Zillertal Valley. Starting directly at the Waidoffenbahn mountain station (2,431 meters), the 260-meter-long route ascends 115 meters and has a maximum difficulty rating of B. The via ferrata is accessible year-round, and the necessary equipment can be rented on site. The descent is easily made via a hiking trail.

New Sky Bridge on the Zimmereben Via Ferrata · Mayrhofen-Hippach

A 48-meter-long, free-floating suspension bridge provides thrills on the Zimmereben via ferrata in Mayrhofen. The new Sky Bridge offers impressive views over the Zillertal valley and is the first of its kind to lead directly into the beer garden of the Gasthaus Zimmereben inn.

New routes at the Magerhart climbing area in the Pitztal Valley:

The new Magerhart climbing area in the Pitztal Valley will open with its first routes in spring 2026. The offerings will be gradually expanded throughout the summer and are expected to be fully operational with around 50 routes later that year. The climbing routes cover various difficulty levels and offer both beginners and advanced climbers an exciting new climbing option in the Pitztal Valley.

Wusel Lake Trail Reimagined · Lake Achensee

The popular Wusel Lake Trail at Lake Achensee is undergoing a comprehensive modernization, scheduled for completion by summer 2026. Along the 3.8-kilometer stretch between Maurach and Achenkirch, eight interactive stations will be renovated and their content revised – accompanied by a fresh new look for the mascot, Wusel the Water Spirit. A new signage system and fascinating background information on nature, water, and regional topics will provide added value.

MOVE SMART! Course by Felix Neureuther · Mayrhofen-Hippach

In Mayrhofen, the new MOVE SMART! course complements the Mountopolis fun sports station on the Penken mountain – developed according to the concept of former professional skier Felix Neureuther. Five training modules from Ravensburger playfully promote children's physical and mental performance and instill motivation and joy in movement.

Outdoor Heroes and a New Witches' Trail · Imst Outdoor Region

The Imst Outdoor Region is consolidating its offerings for playful nature education under the new "Outdoor Heroes" program. The starting point is the story of Buddy, a little eagle who, together with his friends, forms a team of heroes and introduces children to age-appropriate knowledge about nature and the environment – ​​combining interactive on-site stations, digital elements, and an accompanying activity booklet. Also integrated into this concept is the redesigned Witches' Trail, which launches with a revised design, new content, and an app update.

Return routes lead along the stream, over a bridge, and via the Flitz Up Trail; a playground completes the experience with riddles based on the legend of the mysterious Gafleiner.

New Mountain Cart Track “Sunny Mountain Carts” · Paznaun-Ischgl

The new “Sunny Mountain Carts” mountain cart track has opened in Kappl in Paznaun-Ischgl . The three-wheeled carts roll from the mountain station to the valley station of the Alblittbahn cable car through meadows and forests, and their stable construction ensures a safe riding experience. The track is aimed at families and groups of friends and promises a varied outdoor adventure.

Summer toboggan run “Wildcat” · Seefeld region – Tyrol's high plateau.

After a break of several years, the “Wildcat” summer toboggan run on the Katzenkopf mountain in Leutasch, in the Seefeld region, is back in operation. The 1,200-meter-long track offers adrenaline, action, and entertainment for the whole family. Children aged three and up can ride accompanied by an adult, and those eight and older can ride unaccompanied.

Detective Trail at Bergkastel · Tyrolean Oberland – Nauders Adventure Area

The family-friendly "Goldwaldweg" hiking trail at the Goldseebahn cable car in Nauders will soon be enhanced by an interactive puzzle rally. The trail combines outdoor exercise with playful learning and invites children and families to discover the history of gold in the region in an entertaining way.

Forest Slide Park Zugspitze · Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena

From summer 2026, the Forest Slide Park Zugspitze will open in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena as a new leisure highlight for families. The unique adventure trail with several slides of varying lengths and designs leads through the forest at the foot of the Wetterstein mountain. The park is suitable for both children and adults.

Escape Room at the Museum of Tyrolean Farmsteads · Alpbachtal

From spring 2026, the Museum of Tyrolean Farmsteads in the Alpbachtal valley will be transformed into a puzzle landscape unique in Austria: Seven historic farmsteads will become an interactive escape room. The story centers on a day laborer searching for work through Tyrol's past – knowledge transfer remains central despite the games and excitement. The experience is suitable for teams of six to eight people, families, adults, and company and group tours; an easier version is available for children aged 12 and up and teenagers.

Discovery Trail “Legends of Oetz” · Ötztal Valley

The new “Legends of Oetz” Discovery Trail in the Ötztal Valley offers an interactive adventure rally through the town center. Ten stations with short audio and video elements, tasks, and puzzles allow visitors to discover Oetz in a playful and digital way. The completely digital trail requires no physical signage and is flexible in its use, making the experience possible year-round.

Following a complete renovation last autumn, the Weller Bridge in the Ötztal Valley will reopen in spring 2026, offering a continuous accessible hiking trail from the Oetz town center parking lot to the bridge and on to the end of the footbridge. The trail is rated as difficult (red), and the footbridge has been widened to approximately 1.50 meters in the middle, providing both views of the Ache river and the necessary turning radius for walkers and wheelchairs.

Disc Golf Mountain Downhill Course · Seefeld Region – Tyrol's High Plateau

A new disc golf course will open in May 2026 on the Rosshütte mountain in the Seefeld region. The 18 varied holes wind through forests, across alpine meadows, and along well-maintained trails, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced players. Access is easy via the cable car, allowing for a relaxed start to the game on the mountain and a downhill run towards the valley. After hole 9, the Hochegg-Alm mountain hut offers a welcome break.

ZillerGym: Workout with Mountain Views · Fügen-Kaltenbach Holiday Region

The new ZillerGym , located between Fügen and Aschau in the Zillertal valley, offers a freely accessible outdoor training area for sports enthusiasts. Seven stations equipped with professional exercise equipment along the Ziller promenade invite runners and cyclists to engage in balance, back, and mobility exercises. This holistic exercise program combines endurance training with targeted strength training in an alpine setting.

The aktiv arena, located at the swimming pool complex in Westendorf in the Kitzbühel Alps, offers a versatile space for exercise and social interaction. The new leisure facilities include a playground, pump track, calisthenics park, bocce court, marble run, and spacious chill-out zones. This will make the area a meeting place for families, teenagers, and adults alike.
