New tenant sought for Restaurant 1809 at Bergisel!

After more than ten successful years, Bergisel Betriebsgesellschaft mbH, a subsidiary of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV), is ceasing operations of Restaurant 1809 at Bergisel. The ÖSV intends to focus more strongly on sports and thus its core business around the Bergisel Stadium. The location will be available for new leases from January 1, 2027. Bergisel Betriebsgesellschaft mbH would like to thank all guests, partners and the entire team for many wonderful years at Restaurant 1809 on Bergisel.

Flooded with light and offering a fantastic view over Innsbruck, the restaurant has established itself as a popular event location.

Bergisel Betriebsgesellschaft mbH, a subsidiary of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV), will cease operations of Restaurant 1809 on Bergisel, next to the Tirol Panorama, on December 31, 2026. The existing lease agreement with the Tyrolean State Museums and the State of Tyrol will not be renewed due to the ÖSV's strategic focus on its core tasks. A new tenant can take over on January 1, 2027, and continue the success story of this special and likely unique location in Innsbruck.

The new lease will be awarded through a tender process conducted by the Tyrolean State Museums. All information regarding conditions, required documents, deadlines, and contact persons can be found in the tender documents.

The restaurant also has a shaded terrace.

A restaurant with history – and great potential

The name "1809" refers to the year of the Tyrolean struggle for freedom and the Battle of Bergisel. Located directly next to the Tirol Panorama, the restaurant offers ideal conditions for a successful business at this historically significant site. The facilities include:

• 120 indoor seats

• Shaded terrace for approximately 50 guests

• À la carte dining as well as exclusive evening events and celebrations

• Unique location with high visitor traffic from home and abroad

• Well-known and popular event location

Restaurant 1809 on Bergisel has established itself as a sought-after venue for special occasions in recent years. In the 2025/26 financial year, 77 events took place, including 19 weddings. The previous year saw 71 events. This development underscores the attractive potential of the location – particularly for event catering.

Seamless handover – start without time loss

The stylish furnishings and high-quality inventory can be acquired for a fair price. This allows a new tenant to start immediately without any renovation delays. The handover is scheduled for December 31, 2026, so the restaurant can resume operations under new management as early as January 1, 2027.
