Best Austrian summer mountain railways: Fieberbrunn recieves award

With innovative nature experiences, the Fieberbrunn mountain lifts have once again impressed judges for the 13th time, meeting over 100 quality criteria. This means the Fieberbrunn mountain lifts have again been recognized as one of Austria's best summer mountain lifts in the "Family Mountain" category and – new this year – in the "Adventure Mountain" category. This seal of approval is a promise of quality to guests and the region.

Quality-tested offers in the mountains

Since summer 2005, the Fieberbrunn mountain lifts have been among the best summer mountain lifts in Austria. This seal of approval is an initiative of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber's cable car association and has stood for quality, cooperation, and the sustainable development of alpine summer activities for 25 years. Only those mountain lifts that guarantee their guests innovative and carefree mountain experiences through diverse offerings are recognized. To achieve this, at least 100 quality criteria must be met, which are reassessed every three years. In addition to the on-mountain experiences themselves, aspects such as the online presence, staff conduct, cable car maintenance, attractions and public areas, on-site signage, etc., are also evaluated.

Themenberg Family: Fun for young and old

The Fieberbrunn mountain lifts, with their family-friendly "Timok's Wild World" attraction, have undergone another re-evaluation of Austria's best summer mountain lifts, specifically within the "Family Mountain" category. The company achieved a very high standard in the re-test (99% of the criteria were met) and can count itself among the select group of Austria's best summer mountain lifts for another three years. The Fieberbrunn mountain lifts' key strengths highlighted were the exceptionally high quality of their offerings and the diversity of their experiences: "With Timok's Wild World, Fieberbrunn boasts a clearly defined and unique experiential philosophy that gives the family attraction a high recognition value and enables a clear positioning compared to its competitors," concluded the positive evaluation report.

The Fieberbrunn mountain lifts offer a very attractive range of experiences around Timok's Wild World. This family and leisure park delights visitors with its alpine coaster, water features, the digital alpine circular hiking trail "Museum goes Wild," the forest ropes course, the climbing park, and the Explorer Trail. The wooden ball runs and balancing stations, newly constructed in summer 2026 at the mountain station, blend seamlessly into the existing offerings and enhance the family experience on the mountain.

Adventure Mountain: Fieberbrunn receives its first award!

Furthermore, the Fieberbrunn mountain lifts – for the first time since becoming a member – underwent testing in the "Adventure Mountain" category and successfully passed the test. As part of the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn bike region and positioned as an "insider flow spot," the location already boasts a coherent profile, consciously differentiated by attractive lines and trails, varying levels of difficulty, and comparatively short waiting times. The existing offerings, including a bike lift and practice line, skill area, Schweinestberg Line, Iglmoos Trail, Streuböden Line, and integration into "The Challenge," provide a solid and diverse foundation. With 88% of the possible total points, the requirements of the "Adventure Mountain" category are clearly met.

Sustainable impetus for strong regional development

The Best Austrian Summer Mountain Lifts were founded in 2001 with the aim of strengthening the alpine mountain summer experience. Even today, this seal of quality unites the most innovative minds in the industry and now boasts 82 members with 100 themed mountains. A diverse range of experiences is guaranteed – which is one of the reasons why the seal of quality has become an important factor for holidaymakers when choosing a destination.

“At Best Austrian Summer Mountain Lifts, we jointly develop strategies to ensure the continued success of summer tourism. It is our mission to create future-oriented offerings that simultaneously reflect our commitment to sustainable mountain tourism. The interplay of nature and technology is inherently central to summer mountain lifts, and we consciously aim to be pioneers in this area within the tourism industry,” explains Kornel Grundner, spokesperson for Best Austrian Summer Mountain Lifts.
