Ida Maria Pinnerød resigns as vice president of the Norwegian Ski Association

Ida Maria Pinnerød resigns as vice president of the Norwegian Ski Association after she was appointed as state secretary.

In the cabinet meeting Ida Maria Pinnerød was appointed State Secretary to the Minister of Research and Higher Education, Eileen Fugelsnes.

After a thorough assessment, Pinnerød has concluded that the role of State Secretary cannot be combined with the position of Vice President of the Norwegian Ski Association.

"I would very much like to continue on the ski board, but sometimes life takes turns that you have neither planned nor foreseen. When I now become state secretary, I will therefore, out of consideration for the work of all parties, ask for exemption from my position as vice president. I have a big heart for national sports and will contribute what I can to skiing in the future, even if it is not as vice president, and I wish all the great ski lovers in the country the best of luck in their important work," says Ida Maria Pinnerød.

"In a short time, Ida has distinguished herself as a very important resource for the ski board and the Ski Association. We hoped it would be possible to continue to have her, but we fully understand that the role of state secretary cannot be combined with the position of vice president of the Ski Association," says ski president Roger Finjord.

The ski board will return soon with information about what will happen next.
