Hauser Kaibling is investing around 2 million euros in the 2026/27 winter season.

Hauser Kaibling is consistently pursuing its investment strategy: Around €2 million is being invested in preparations for the 2026/27 winter season – in slope quality, snowmaking, and digital services. The success of this strategy is demonstrated by the development of the past two years: With investments of around €36 million in new cable cars and infrastructure, the Styrian ski resort has achieved a visitor growth of approximately 16%.
At Hauser Kaibling, snow reliability isn't just a promise, it's a craft. On approximately 80 hectares – roughly equivalent to 112 football fields – the team is currently optimizing slopes and ski trails for more space and safety. Simultaneously, landscaping, drainage work, and snowmaking improvements are underway. At the same time, all cable cars and lifts are undergoing their annual maintenance and inspection. Hauser Kaibling is also preparing for winter in terms of staffing: the number of employees increases from around 70 in the summer to approximately 100 in the winter. "A perfect day of skiing begins long before the first snow falls. Even in summer, we work to optimally prepare the slopes, snowmaking, and infrastructure for winter. Our aim is to offer our guests the highest quality and the best possible comfort from their first day on the slopes to their last," says Klaus Hofstätter, Managing Director of Hauser Kaibling.
Snowmaking and digital services
A key focus is on the snowmaking infrastructure: Before winter, specialists service the entire system and check its operational readiness. Hauser Kaibling has been continuously modernizing its snowmaking infrastructure for years and is investing again this year in modern, more energy-efficient snow cannons. Hauser Kaibling is also further developing its digital services: With the new smartphone ticket, guests purchase their ticket online, upload it to the "key2ski" app, and open the turnstile with their smartphone. This eliminates the need for a paper ticket or a visit to a ticket office. This is made possible by new access antennas. The information available is expanded with two new LED walls. In total, guests have access to six digital information displays. Before the season begins, the team also checks all safety equipment, such as safety nets and signage, as well as rescue and emergency equipment. Joint exercises with mountain and ski patrol ensure coordinated procedures in case of an emergency.
Hauser Kaibling is the highest mountain in the Schladming 4-mountain ski area and part of Ski amadé. In winter, guests can enjoy 123 kilometers of slopes, the spectacular FIS World Cup downhill run, state-of-the-art cable cars, and Wollis Kids Park, a 24,000 m² children's ski area at the valley station. In summer, Hauser Kaibling invites visitors to explore its diverse hiking trails, biking opportunities, regional cuisine, and unique nature experiences. Wollis Mountain World offers families a wide range of activities – from a petting zoo and the sheep-jumping tower to water zorbing. Investments in infrastructure, quality, and new experiences further strengthen Hauser Kaibling's position as a year-round destination. During the winter season, Hauser Kaibling employs up to 100 people from the region.
