artnership between Ski Austria, Raiffeisen & Mastercard

Ski Austria, Raiffeisen and Mastercard are working closely together on the fan experience of the future.

At a joint event at ice Q in Sölden, Ski Austria, Raiffeisen and Mastercard presented their collaboration, thus setting a joint example for Austrian skiing at the start of the winter season.

Mastercard will be the exclusive payment partner of Ski Austria going forward. The focus of this long-term partnership is the shared vision of providing fans with innovative and exceptional winter sports experiences.

“Austrian skiing thrives on strong partners who share our passion and develop new ideas and provide impetus together with us. With Mastercard as our new and exclusive payment partner, as well as Raiffeisen, we want to build a long-term collaboration and develop it step by step for the benefit of the fans , ” said ÖSV General Secretary Jan Überall .

Long-term commitment to Austrian skiing

A first visible element of the collaboration is the new Ski Austria Debit Mastercard, which was presented at the event and makes the partnership visible beyond sports in everyday payment transactions. Cardholders benefit from, among other things, a 15 percent discount on ÖSV World Cup events, selected Ski Austria merchandise, and the Ski Austria Magazine.

Looking ahead, Raiffeisen, Ski Austria and Mastercard are planning further products, services and experiences that underline their long-term commitment to Austrian skiing.

For Thomas Wass, CEO of Raiffeisenlandesbank Tirol and Chairman of Raiffeisen Austria's Central Advertising Association, the new partnership builds on a long-standing connection with Austrian winter sports: "We have always had a special affinity with Austrian skiing. We are therefore all the more pleased to further develop this connection with the Mastercard and Ski Austria team. The new Ski Austria Debit Mastercard now makes this partnership visible to our customers in their everyday lives."

Michael Brönner, Country Manager of Mastercard Austria , also emphasizes the importance of this partnership: “Skiing has a special significance in Austria and connects people across generations. At Mastercard, it is important to us to bring people together around their shared passions. With Raiffeisen and Ski Austria, we have strong partners at our side.”

The World Cup opener in Sölden relies on cashless payments.

The launch of the partnership also marked the premiere of fully cashless payment at the Ski World Cup Opening in Sölden. Visitors could pay cashless with their debit or credit card both in the event area and at the ticket booths – either physically or digitally via smartphone or wearables. This enabled simple, secure, and convenient payment processing, significantly reducing waiting times for fans and noticeably simplifying operations for businesses and their staff on site.
