Polartec, a Milliken & Company brand renowned for pioneering more sustainable and innovative textile solutions, is proud to partner with Roeckl Sports on the new Kailash 2 gloves, one of the first products in the world to use Polartec Power Stretch Pro in an eco-conscious version featuring a 91% recycled material content derived from 100% post-consumer recycled sources for both its polyester and nylon parts. Polartec Power Stretch Pro, built on the proven performance of the original 4-way stretch fabric, now incorporates high-performance recycled and plant-based materials to reduce its environmental footprint while maintaining the same durability, stretch and lightweight warmth that have made it a trusted choice for active use.

For more than two decades, Polartec Power Stretch Pro has been trusted by leading outdoor and performance brands for its combination of next-to-skin comfort and freedom of movement without added bulk. The signature bi-component knit construction now consists of polyester and nylon content made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials, all while retaining the fabric’s soft hand, 4-way stretch, shape recovery, abrasion resistance and anti-pilling performance.
Drawing on more than 180 years of glove-making expertise, Roeckl Sports redesigned the Kailash 2 to combine the breathable warmth and flexible comfort of Polartec Power Stretch Pro made from recycled materials with the precise fit, dexterity and functionality expected from a high-performance glove. Reflective details add visibility in low-light conditions, and the silicone grip provides a secure hold on handlebars, poles and everyday essentials. Furthermore, the gloves feature touchscreen compatibility, letting wearers use smartphones and electronic devices without removing them. Finally, the Kailash 2 gloves reflect Roeckl Sports’ and Polartec’s shared commitment to more responsible and sustainable manufacturing, given that the bluesign-approved fabric sets a new benchmark for environmentally conscious thermal performance.
“Polartec Power Stretch Pro has always been about delivering warmth, stretch and durability in a lightweight package,” explained Karen Beattie, Director of Product Management at Polartec. “With the new recycled version, we’ve reengineered the materials that go into the fabric, incorporating 100% post-consumer recycled polyester and nylon. The Roeckl Sports Kailash 2 is one of the first products on the market made with the recycled version of Polartec Power Stretch Pro, proving that evolved material sciences can help lower our carbon footprint while maintaining the high-stretch and warmth people expect.”
