MAS Alpha Securities Launches MAS Tierra, Buys Meadowlark Ski & Lake Lodge in Wyoming's Bighorn National Forest
10/May/2026
MAS Tierra, a newly formed hospitality venture operating under Miami-based investment firm MAS Alpha Securities, today announced the acquisition of Meadowlark Ski & Lake Lodge, a storied ski and outdoor destination situated within Wyoming's Bighorn National Forest, and administered through a special use authorization with the Bighorn National Forest. The acquisition marks the first initiative under the MAS Tierra banner, establishing a new chapter for the property.
Located on Forest Service Road on US Highway 16 East near Ten Sleep, Wyoming, Meadowlark Ski Lodge offers comfortable amenities for winter recreation in the Big Horn Mountains. Meadowlark Ski Lodge features 300 accessible acres serviced by 2 chair lifts and offers a view of the 320-acre Meadowlark Lake.
MAS Tierra, founder Jose Mas, Jr. aims to bring Meadowlark Ski & Lake Lodge to life in a new way, via an experience-based approach to hospitality, guided by the surrounding terrain and seasonal rhythms. Under its new stewardship, it is set to open for the 2026-2027 winter season.
"Meadowlark Ski & Lake Lodge has been a beloved destination for decades and I intend to maintain that integrity, while also expanding the offering." says, Mas. "The main goal is to respect the natural environment and atmosphere, while also stewarding a grounding, elevated and engaging experience."
Initial proposed plans for experiential elements include a program built around authentic immersion in the Bighorn mountains, with the desire to include future offering of a range of excursions, nature exploration and guided tours through open terrain.
"The Bighorn National Forest is a place of deep significance to this region and to the people who have called it home across generations. We welcome partners who approach this land with genuine respect for its history, while also bringing new communities to the region to experience everything it has to offer," said Amy Ormseth, Acting Forest Supervisor, U.S. Forest Service, Bighorn National Forest.
"Having lived in Colorado, I've seen many mountain destinations become diluted experiences. Meadowlark offers a rare opportunity to remain truly connected to the land," added Mas. "You cannot replicate this environment or the feeling it evokes. The idea is to simply build upon what has always been extraordinary."
The acquisition of Meadowlark Ski & Lake Lodge represents the first phase of a longer-term vision for the Bighorn area.
Located within Wyoming's Bighorn National Forest, Meadowlark Ski & Lake Lodge has served as a mountain destination for skiers, riders, and outdoor enthusiasts for decades. Set against the expansive terrain of the Bighorn range, the property offers access to alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and a landscape of uncommon scale and beauty. https://www.meadowlarklodge.com/
