CSIA Appoints Beth Potter as Interim Managing Director

The CSIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Beth Potter as its Interim Managing Director, effective immediately.
A highly respected leader in Canada’s tourism and not for profit sectors, Beth brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience to the role. She is widely recognized for her ability to guide organizations through periods of transition while maintaining strategic focus, operational continuity, and strong stakeholder confidence.
“Beth’s depth of experience, credibility across the tourism sector, and steady leadership style are exactly what the Alliance needs at this time,” said Gunars Kazaks, CSIA Board Chair. “Her appointment ensures stability for our organization while we prepare for the next phase of leadership.”
Since 2003, Beth has been a prominent and influential voice in Canada’s tourism industry, building strong and enduring relationships across government, destination organizations, industry associations, and international partners. Her work shaping policy and advocating for tourism growth has included representing Canada on the global stage through her involvement with the World Travel & Tourism Council and the United Nations World Tourism Organization. These deep connections position the Alliance well to continue advancing its mandate with confidence and credibility.
Beth currently serves on the boards of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and Centennial College, further demonstrating her extensive governance expertise and the trust placed in her leadership by complex, high profile institutions. Throughout her career, she has successfully worked with diverse boards, committees, and volunteer driven organizations to build alignment and deliver results.
As Interim Managing Director, Beth will focus on maintaining organizational momentum, supporting members and partners, and ensuring a seamless transition to a permanent Managing Director. Her long standing tenure in the tourism industry provides institutional knowledge and stability at a pivotal moment for the Alliance.

On a personal note, Beth is a lifelong skier with a deep appreciation for the passion that defines the Alliance’s community. Born and raised in Ontario and a graduate of Lakehead University, she is also an avid golfer and a fan of curling. After raising her family in Toronto, Beth now resides in Ottawa.
