Club5 broadens its role as representative body of the Alpine LOCs
10/May/2026
On the occasion of the FIS Spring Meetings, Club5 Ski Classics held its spring plenary meeting, which provided an opportunity to reflect on an intense and successful season, welcome two new members, and further strengthen Club5’s growing role as the representative body of the Alpine Local Organizing Committees.
The 2025/26 season proved to be one of the most demanding and exciting in recent years, highlighted by the Olympic Winter Games, which represented a major milestone for the entire alpine skiing community. Two Club5 members played a leading role in this historic event, hosting the women’s races on the Olympia delle Tofane in Cortina d’Ampezzo and the men’s competitions on the Stelvio in Bormio.
Alongside the Olympics, the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup delivered a captivating season filled with memorable performances, surprises, and inspiring stories across the white circus.
The 26 LOCs composing the Club5 Ski Classics Sport Association gathered in Portorož during the traditional FIS Spring Technical Meetings not only to review the past season, but also to lay the foundations for another ambitious and exciting winter ahead. During the plenary session, the organizers reaffirmed their commitment to actively contributing to the continuous improvement and development of the sport and its events.
The meeting was also honored by the participation of FIS President Johan Eliasch and FIS CEO Urs Lehmann, who both reiterated their support for the organizers as key stakeholders within the alpine skiing ecosystem.
New members join Club5
Another clear sign of the positive momentum and credibility achieved by Club5 is the continued growth of the Association. Despite the withdrawal of Zagreb, communicated by Mr. Miho Glavić, Club5 officially welcomed two new members: the Austrian LOC of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and the Bulgarian organizer from Bansko, both unanimously admitted during the meeting.
“We are delighted to welcome Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Bansko into the Club5 family,” stated Club5 President Rainer Senoner. “Their inclusion further confirms the importance of Club5 as a strong and united voice representing Alpine World Cup organizers.” With these additions, the Association now counts 27 members.
Club5 workshop coming soon
In line with the organizers’ ambition to continuously raise standards and foster innovation, Club5 is already looking ahead to its next major initiative. In September 2026, the biennial Club5 Workshop will take place in Italy, on the shores of Lake Garda.
The event will offer participants a valuable opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and inspiration, including an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, one of the world’s most iconic motorsport venues.
