Snow on the Way: Hotham Prepares for Fresh Snowfall and Family Fun

Mt Hotham is set to receive a welcome burst of winter weather, with significant snowfall forecast across the mountain over the coming days.

Current forecasts indicate between 20 and 40 centimeters of fresh snow, with the strongest snowfall expected overnight Saturday and into Sunday. Combined with consistently cold temperatures, the conditions are expected to provide a boost to early season snow cover across the resort.

The fresh snowfall comes at the perfect time for the school holidays, with Hotham's operations team continuing to take advantage of every opportunity to boost natural snowfall with snowmaking as conditions allow.

For families and first-time snow visitors, the Hotham Hub is open and operating daily, providing easy access to tobogganing and snowplay activities.

“The forecast snow is fantastic news for the resort and for the many visitors heading to Hotham this week,” said Natalie Valentine, General Manager, Mt Hotham Alpine Resort. “Combined with ongoing snowmaking efforts, we’re excited to see the snow cover building across the mountain and welcome guests to enjoy everything Hotham has to offer.”

The Hotham Hub features a dedicated toboggan slope, public shelter, visitor information, heated indoor areas, equipment rental through Hoys, and refreshments from the Hub Café.

Tobogganing sessions operate daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm and can be booked via the Hotham website.

Visitors are encouraged to keep an eye on the Hotham website, Lift Report and Hotham App for the latest snow and operational updates as conditions evolve throughout the weekend.
