Saddleback Townhomes: A Major Milestone Achieved

Saddleback Mountain’s highly anticipated modern residential expansion has cleared its most critical regulatory hurdle. Developers announced today that the official development permit has been issued for the resort's new luxury slopeside townhome community, formally shifting the project from the drawing board to reality.

The final permit approval clears the way for groundbreaking on a premier parcel tucked just below the Parmachenee A-frames. This milestone gives early buyers a green light as construction mobilizes in western Maine.

Modern Mountain Living, Elevated

The initial phase of the development will introduce a limited collection of eight luxury townhomes, specifically engineered to embrace a contemporary aesthetic while blending seamlessly into the surrounding alpine canopy.

Located with direct trail access from the Gee Whiz and Smelt Streamer trails, the neighborhood provides immediate ski-in/ski-out connectivity to the South Branch quad lift while remaining private and tucked away from the busier base area.

The multi-level layouts feature:

  • Three-Story Floorplans: Four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms optimized for large families or groups.

  • True Slopeside Access: Step out the door directly onto the trail network.

  • Dedicated Winter Storage: A lower-level mudroom layout complete with specialized boot and ski storage.

  • Flexible Income Potential: The lower level includes space engineered for a private lock-out, allowing owners to easily wall off guest accommodations or generate short-term rental income.

Crafting the Next Generation of Saddleback

The design marks a distinct architectural evolution for the independent resort. Moving away from standard, legacy rustic designs, these residences utilize an energy-efficient, sleek alpine blueprint characterized by expansive mountain views, soaring windows, and heavy stone-and-timber fireplaces built for post-ski gatherings.

Because on-mountain, direct-trailside inventory is inherently finite in the East, resort representatives expect the premium phase-one units to move quickly as the construction footprint begins to take shape this summer.

Buyer Note: With the development permit officially secured, early property selection has commenced. Inquiries and phase-one reservations are being handled directly through the Saddleback Real Estate division.
