Killington Resort Announces Leadership Team Promotions and New Managerial Additions

Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard destination in Eastern North America, announced the appointment of four new managers and two promotions on its Resort Leadership Team.

Jordan Spear has been promoted to Vice President of Mountain Operations. Spear has worked at Killington and Pico for nearly 20 years and is a 2009 graduate of the Killington Resort & Hospitality Management program. Since then, he has held several management roles across the resort, including positions at the Pico Fitness Center, in Guest Services, and in Marketing. Spear first joined the Resort Leadership Team in 2019 as Director of Marketing, Sales & Reservations. In 2025, he was promoted to Vice President of Resort Services & Sales, overseeing skier service revenue and guest service areas.

Spear was a key leader in several recent Guest Services advancements, including the implementation of RFID ticketing, the resort’s transition to cashless operations and continued growth of the online store. He brings extensive guest-facing leadership experience to his new role, where he now oversees Mountain Experience teams, including Patrol, Terrain Parks and Lift Operations, as well as Lift Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance, Snowmaking, and Grooming.

Rob Frei has been promoted to Vice President of Resort Services & Sales and has joined the Resort Leadership Team. After an initial tenure with the resort, Frei returned to Killington in 2016 as Retail Manager, bringing extensive experience in both back-of-house operations, including inventory buying, and front-of-house sales. In 2025, he was promoted to Director of Retail and Golf, leading the Pro Shop, Golf Maintenance, Killington and Pico’s in-person retail locations, and the resort’s online store.

In recent years, Frei’s teams have earned strong survey scores from guests and employees alike. His deep understanding of guest-facing operations and longtime connection to Killington make him an ideal leader for the resort services teams. In this expanded role, Frei will continue to oversee Retail and Golf, while also leading Group Sales, Product Sales, Guest Services, Rentals, and Mountain Sports.

Reid Brechner has been promoted to Senior Manager of Technology. Originally from Belgrade Lakes, Maine, Brechner first joined Killington in 2018. As a member of the Business Solutions team, he helped support significant growth in Killington’s online sales and navigated numerous point-of-sale system transitions at the resort. In 2024, Brechner was elevated to Business Solutions Supervisor, playing a key role in technology platform changes following Killington and Pico’s transition to independent ownership.

Brechner has continued to lead important resort-wide technology deployments, including the implementation of new maintenance management software and the new AI self-checkout experience in Snowshed Lodge. In his new position, he will lead both the Business Solutions and Technology teams, with a broader focus on IT infrastructure and operations.

Emma Steinhart has been promoted to Senior Retail Manager. A graduate of the Resort & Hospitality Management program, Steinhart has worked on Killington’s retail team since 2015. She was hired as Manager of Killington Sports at Route 4 in 2017, where she has helped lead significant growth at the resort’s flagship retail location.

Steinhart’s background in guest service, retail operations and team leadership positions her well to guide Killington’s retail operations into the future. As Senior Retail Manager, she will oversee the resort’s primary retail locations at Route 4, Snowshed Lodge, K-1 Lodge, as well as the Warehouse and Commissary departments.

Carol Saberin-Tener has rejoined Killington Resort as Spa/Health Club Manager. Saberin-Tener previously worked with Killington’s Mountain Sports team from 1998-2016, leading the Ministars winter lesson program for much of that time. After spending winters in Vermont and summers in her home state of Pennsylvania, she moved to Vermont permanently in 2004. Before returning to Killington, Saberin-Tener served as Town Pool Director in Randolph, Vt., and as an award-winning Sales and Leasing Consultant for Honda. In her new role, she leads the year-round team of fitness center attendants, and massage therapists at the Killington Grand Hotel Spa.

Julia Baldwin has joined Killington Resort as Guest Services Manager. Baldwin comes to Killington from Okemo Mountain Resort, where she spent the past several years in various guest services leadership roles. She now leads a team of approximately a dozen summer Guest Services agents, which grows to approximately 40 team members during the winter season. Baldwin oversees Killington’s Guest Services locations across the resort, including Skyeship, Bear, K-1, and Ramshead Lodges during the winter season, and Snowshed Lodge during the summer season.
