ONE WAY Summer 2027: New TRX & MRX Pole Collections for Trail Running and Alpine Adventures

ONE WAY, the Austrian pole specialist best known on the Cross-Country Ski World Cup circuit, is taking its race-proven technology off snow and onto the trails with the launch of an expanded Summer 2027 collection built around two brand-new pole series, TRX and MRX, alongside a refreshed version of its long-standing MTX trekking range.

The Ried im Innkreis based brand, part of the Fischer Sports group since 2018, says every key component across the new ranges has been developed from the ground up, drawing on decades of engineering experience gained producing race poles for elite Nordic skiing.

TRX: built to race on foot

The headline launch is the TRX series, ONE WAY's first dedicated trail running pole range, aimed at competitive and ambitious recreational runners tackling technical alpine terrain. The series comprises two UHM carbon models designed with a singular focus on power transfer, swing efficiency and minimal weight.

The TR 12 Carbon Vertical is pitched squarely at fast, vertical racing. At just 99 grams for a 120cm pole, ONE WAY says it ranks among the lightest trail running poles in its class, built around a slim 12mm shaft made entirely from UHM carbon. A tool-free Exchange Basket System allows baskets to be swapped quickly, and the model ships with XL baskets that also make it usable for winter ski mountaineering.

The foldable TRX 14 Carbon is the more versatile option, aimed at longer, more technically demanding races. At 125g for the same 120cm length, it uses a slightly thicker 14mm UHM carbon shaft for extra stiffness without a significant weight penalty, and folds down to a compact 38cm using ONE WAY's new Push Button 2.0 mechanism for quick deployment and storage between technical sections.

Both TRX models share a new lightweight, quick-drying strap that holds its shape over repeated use, paired with an ergonomic EVA foam grip designed to remain secure across multiple hand positions during a race.

MRX: crossing over into alpine touring

Sitting alongside TRX is the all-new MRX series, four foldable pole models aimed at hikers and alpine tourers who want the low weight and agility of a running pole with the added stability of a traditional trekking design. The range splits into carbon and aluminium versions: the carbon models prioritise minimal weight, adjustable length and a slim shaft profile, while the aluminium versions are built for greater durability and rough handling on longer, harder trips.

Every pole in the MRX line-up carries the same TRX strap, EVA grip and Push Button 2.0 folding system introduced with the trail running range, and interchangeable baskets mean the series can transition between summer hiking and winter use.

MTX gets lighter, too

ONE WAY has also updated its established MTX trekking series, the brand's classic all-round pole category. The foldable MTX 18 Carbon Vario has been made lighter than the previous version, and both the MTX 18 Carbon Vario and MTX Carbon Vario Lite now come fitted with the new Push Button 2.0 folding mechanism, bringing the trekking range in line with the folding speed of the newer TRX and MRX poles.

A wider push into summer sports

The launch continues a strategy ONE WAY has been building for several years: transferring technology proven on the Cross-Country World Cup circuit into other outdoor disciplines. Founded in Finland in 2004 before financial difficulties led to its acquisition by Fischer Sports in 2018, ONE WAY has built its reputation on ski pole design for elite Nordic and alpine racing, with athletes competing on its equipment at World Cup and championship level. The new Summer 2027 range marks one of the brand's most significant pushes yet into non-winter disciplines, positioning TRX and MRX as tools for athletes chasing performance gains on the trails with the same engineering rigour ONE WAY has long applied on snow.
