European Outdoor Group Expands Membership with Six Diverse New Members

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has welcomed six new members in recent weeks, bringing diverse expertise in data analytics, sustainability, and academic research to the European outdoor industry's leading trade association.

The new members include Amazon, Bradshaw Taylor, Cordura, Peak Performance, Rematrix, and the University of Leeds, ranging from traditional outdoor brands and a university to online retail giant Amazon .

Amazon, which plays a central role in the outdoor industry, intends to contribute primarily to data projects and trend reports, according to an EOG statement.

Bradshaw Taylor, a British distributor of outdoor and lifestyle products that represents brands including Sherpa and Keen, plans to collaborate with other members to make a significant impact on sustainability and corporate social responsibility in the industry. "We look forward to working with and learning from other members to achieve significant impact on sustainability and CSR in our industry," said Julie Russell, Head of Marketing at Bradshaw Taylor.

Cordura, a leading provider of durable fabrics and long-time partner of many EOG member brands, wants to engage particularly in EOG data projects and deepen cooperation with other members.

Peak Performance, a Swedish brand and part of the Amer Sports Group, has set the goal of working with other member brands on environmental issues within the EOG .

Rematrix is a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) founded to support the implementation of the upcoming Textile Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework in Italy. Its mission is to simplify compliance for brands while enabling the textile industry's transition to a circular business model that is both environmentally and economically sustainable.

The University of Leeds joins as an academic member, bringing research expertise to the association. The university has previously collaborated with the EOG on microfiber research and textile sustainability initiatives.

The EOG was founded in 2003 by 19 of the world's largest outdoor companies who recognized the need for a cohesive, cross-border approach to representing the outdoor sector. The association has since evolved from an organization for 19 brands to one with 158 members from every part of the value chain.

The EOG's vision is to enable global, profitable business in a way that gives back more than it takes — to nature and people, serving as the collaboration platform for the outdoor sector.

The addition of these six diverse members reflects the organization's expanding scope and its efforts to bring together different parts of the outdoor industry ecosystem, from retail and manufacturing to academic research and circular economy solutions.
