Whistler’s Calling: What’s New for Winter 2026/27

Higher, Smoother, Further: A New Way to Reach the Glacier

Fresh tracks on Blackcomb Glacier will be easier to chase this winter, as Whistler Blackcomb replaces the Showcase T-Bar with the new Showcase Chair. Opening for the 2026/27 season, the fixed-grip quad will whisk skiers and riders towards 215 acres of spectacular alpine terrain, with a revised alignment designed to provide more consistent access while helping protect the glacier below.

A Fresh Taste of Whistler

Skiers come to Whistler hungry for powder, but there’s plenty more on the menu. Whistler Blackcomb is giving its dining a refresh for 2026/27. Trattoria Di Como, which opened in March 2026, serves refined Northern Italian cooking and award-winning wines with warm mountain hospitality, while Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar has secured a coveted spot among North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026. Meanwhile, Creekside favourite Rimrock Café celebrates its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of seafood and cosy cabin dining.

Big Mountains, Smaller Prices for Gen Z

For younger travellers dreaming of carving through British Columbia, getting onto the mountain just became more affordable. New for 2026/27, 13–30-year-olds can save 20% on eligible Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass products, opening the door to Whistler Blackcomb and more than 90 Epic Pass destinations worldwide. Pride Takes to the Peaks

Whistler gets a colourful makeover from 24–31 January 2027, when Whistler Pride Festival returns for a week of skiing, celebration and seriously good après. Building on the resort’s long-standing Pride legacy, expect a joyful mix of on-mountain adventure, high-energy parties and inclusive events, all against a backdrop of snow-covered peaks.

Sunday Nights Heat Up

Snow and fire collide at Whistler Blackcomb’s legendary Fire & Ice Show, set to return on Sunday evenings during the winter season. Head to Skier’s Plaza to watch world-class skiers and snowboarders launch through a blazing ring of fire as a live DJ provides the soundtrack, before fireworks light up the mountain sky. Better yet, the spectacle is free to watch.

Spring Goes Out with a Bang

Bluebird days, soft spring snow and long après sessions set the scene when the World Ski & Snowboard Festival (WSSF) returns in April 2027. Part competition, part cultural festival and part mountain-wide party, WSSF brings together high-octane skiing and snowboarding with music, art, photography, filmmaking and nightlife. It’s Whistler at its most energetic – and a fitting way to celebrate the tail end of the ski season.
