The Winter 2026–27 season marks a historic turning point for Sainte-Foy. For the first time, ski area operations transition under SPL ALTTA (Alliance Locale pour la Transition des Territoires d'Altitude), a joint public entity created by the municipalities of Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise and neighboring Tignes.

Wholly owned by local authorities, SPL ALTTA introduces a new governance model designed to protect regional identity while facing the challenges of climate transition. Moving beyond standard lift management, ALTTA acts as a regional development tool focused on public interest, worker housing, sustainable local mobility, and year-round economic appeal.

Accessible Mountain Pass Pricing (2026–27)

• Youth (Ages 8–18): €249 for a 7-day pass (includes 1 day in Tignes).

For freeride purists, Sainte-Foy is legend. From the summit of the Aiguille (2,620m), skiers unlock vast backcountry itineraries, including the Col du Granier descent toward old mountain hamlets and the technical faces of Pointe de Foglietta.

To bridge the gap between groomed runs and backcountry skiing, Sainte-Foy offers three "Nature Rides"—marked, avalanche-secured, but un-groomed slopes where skiers can practice off-piste technique before hiring a guide for classic descents like the Vallon du Clou to the Monal hamlet.

Safety Shred Days 2027 (January 6–10)

Sainte-Foy will host the 8th edition of Safety Shred Days, France's largest event dedicated to avalanche rescue and mountain safety. Created in 2018 by professional snowboarder Victor Daviet after surviving an avalanche in Alaska, the gathering brings together Freeride World Tour athletes and everyday riders for practical workshops, search training, and real-life rescue scenarios.

Family Harmony: Small Groups and Safe Terrain

Sainte-Foy's funnel-shaped ski area naturally brings all slopes back to a central front-de-neige meeting point at 1,550m, making it a safe, stress-free playground for parents.

This winter, children's instruction receives a major quality upgrade: all three local ski schools (ESF, Snocool, and Evolution 2) are restricting group lessons to a maximum of 4 children per instructor. From the Nuts and Foxy slalom fun trail to evening snowshoe tours with gourmet snacks under the stars, family activities extend well beyond the standard ski day.
