Sierra Nevada kicks off its pre-season skiing campaign with early bird ski pass sales at discounted rates.

Sierra Nevada ski resort launched its winter preseason on Tuesday, September 15, with an early bird sale campaign for long-term and full-season ski passes, offering discounts of 20 percent. This comes as the Granada ski resort accelerates its efforts to prepare all services for the new winter season.

The discount period, which will affect 10, 15, 20 day, season, family season and Monday to Friday season passes, will last for one month (until October 15).

Pre-purchase – through www.sierranevada.es – also comes with numerous advantages. You'll enjoy free night skiing days, discounts on ski and snowboard equipment rental, ski storage, activities for non-skiers, and lift access for next summer. Furthermore, any unused ski days from this upcoming season can be carried over to the 2027/28 season when you purchase a new pass of the same or longer duration.

On the other hand, users can finance their ski pass 100% online. The application is submitted through the Sierra Nevada website. Those who purchase a season or long-term ski pass can choose a payment term of 4, 5, or 6 months. This financing is valid for any advance purchase (long-term and season) as long as the minimum purchase amount is €300 and the maximum is €6,000.

The Minister of Culture, Historical Heritage and Sport, and President of Cetursa Sierra Nevada, Patricia del Pozo, highlighted the intense work being carried out by all departments of the resort "to have everything ready for the new season. There are projects underway across all areas of Sierra Nevada with an investment of more than 17 million euros to present our best image for the 2026/27 winter season."

Thus, apart from routine maintenance work (windbreaks, ski lifts, snowmaking, among others), Sierra Nevada has already completed the new Nevasol restaurant in the heart of the Borreguiles ski area. The slope maintenance department has a new snow groomer and four snowmobiles, while on the ground, modifications will be made to the landings of the big jumps in the Loma de Dílar snowpark (pending final environmental approval from the Sierra Nevada Natural Area) to allow this sector to open with less snow.

Among other improvements to ski lifts—related to accessibility and electrical management—the Stadium, Laguna, and Montebajo chairlifts are undergoing their mandatory 25-year overhaul. The Stadium chairlift will have its boarding mat replaced and an RPD system installed along the lift line to minimize lockouts during freezing rain. Meanwhile, the Monachil chairlift's indoor station will be renovated.

In terms of snowmaking, the resort is currently carrying out repairs to the Borreguiles reservoir with new waterproofing systems to prevent the loss of water intended for snowmaking, in a similar action to the one carried out last summer at the Zahareña reservoir.

In addition, the Snow Department, among other actions related to the efficiency and effectiveness of the system, will acquire this season two new snowmaking containers that will be installed in Borreguiles and at a point in the lower half of the El Río slope.

Cetursa Sierra Nevada is also undertaking the reorganization and renovation of two of its surface parking lots in Pradollano, an action linked to improving mobility within the resort. The Las Sabinas parking lot, located below the High-Performance Sports Center (CAR), will no longer be designated for motorhomes but will instead be used by cars for short-term parking and season ticket holders (owners and employees). Meanwhile, the Peñones parking lot, in the upper part of the resort, with a new access road, will include an area for short-term caravan parking.

The bus parking area at the entrance to Pradollano, where the new public restrooms are now open, has been partially resurfaced and its signage improved. Furthermore, all the restrooms in the underground parking garage at Plaza de Andalucía are being renovated in preparation for the upcoming winter season.

In the Plaza de Andalucía, in collaboration with the Monachil City Council, the complete renovation of the plaza's lighting and the restrooms located next to the user service center is being finalized.
