Lenz Strengthens Winter Sports Portfolio with Acquisition of Swiss Glove Specialist Snowlife

Austrian family-owned textile and technology company Lenz has acquired Swiss glove manufacturer Snowlife AG, marking a significant consolidation in the European winter sports accessories market. The deal, announced this week, brings together two long‑standing partners and positions Lenz to expand its expertise in high‑performance gloves while deepening its reach into Switzerland’s sporting goods sector.

The acquisition follows a succession process at Snowlife, which has been developing gloves for winter sports and outdoor activities since 1973. With no successor emerging within the founding family, majority shareholder and Chairwoman of the Board Daniela Wenk initiated a structured search for a buyer who could preserve the company’s identity. “For me, it was crucial to place Snowlife in the hands of someone who understands our brand, our team, and our values,” Wenk said. She will remain involved for one year in an advisory capacity to ensure continuity.

Snowlife will continue to operate as an independent brand. Its team, along with design and product development, will remain in Switzerland. Operational management stays with CEO Yves Isler, who joined the company in 2023 after senior roles at Head. According to both companies, the goal is not full integration but targeted collaboration.

The two businesses have worked together for many years, and the acquisition formalises a relationship built on complementary strengths. Lenz, based in Vorarlberg, is known for functional textiles, heated socks and gloves, and wearable heating technology. Snowlife brings decades of glove‑specific expertise, particularly in fit, ergonomics and manufacturing, as well as established access to Swiss retailers.

Synergies will be pursued in procurement, development and international sales structures. Snowlife is expected to benefit from Lenz’s global distribution network, while Lenz gains a premium glove brand with strong recognition in the Swiss market. Both companies emphasise that Snowlife’s identity, heritage and product philosophy will remain intact.

A photograph released with the announcement shows the Snowlife team alongside Wenk and Lenz Managing Director Stefan Lenz, underscoring the collaborative nature of the transition.

The move reflects a broader trend in the winter sports industry, where specialist brands are increasingly joining larger groups to secure succession, scale and international reach. For Lenz, the acquisition strengthens its position in a competitive segment and expands its portfolio at a time when demand for high‑quality winter accessories continues to grow.
