French sporting goods giant Decathlon is expanding its German footprint with the launch of a major new flagship location on Brammenring in Oberhausen. Scheduled to open its doors on October 16, 2026, the custom-built facility spans 4,500 square meters of indoor retail space, complemented by a 500-square-meter outdoor experience area and an integrated sports park.
Representing an investment of approximately 15 million euros, the Oberhausen store brings Decathlon’s national network in Germany to 117 locations. Construction of the state-of-the-art building was completed in roughly eleven months.

Dedicated Cycling Center
Cycling forms a core pillar of the new flagship, featuring dedicated retail partnerships and high-end fitting services:
Van Rysel Shop-in-Shop: Occupying 300 square meters, this space marks Decathlon's second dedicated Van Rysel outlet in Germany (following Cologne-Marsdorf). It caters to performance cyclists with road bikes, gravel bikes, and professional bike-fitting services.
Rebike Outlet: Rebike occupies 200 square meters dedicated exclusively to certified refurbished bicycles and e-bikes, catering to eco-conscious and budget-minded commuters.
Interactive Testing and Multi-Sport Reach
The Oberhausen location stocks gear and equipment for approximately 80 different sports. To assist shoppers in evaluating products before purchasing, the facility incorporates multiple indoor and outdoor test areas where customers can try out gear in real time.
