29/October/2026
U.S. Ski & Snowboard and Breckenridge Ski Resort announced the return of the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix to Breckenridge, CO, Dec. 10-13. This event will kick off the 2026-27 domestic freeski and snowboard FIS World Cup tour and is one of 13 domestic World Cup events of the 2026-27 season.
Returning to Breckenridge Ski Resort after a 12-year hiatus, the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix will bring elite freeski and snowboard slopestyle competition to one of the sport’s most celebrated mountain communities to kick off the Grand Prix’s 30th Anniversary winter.
“Twelve years is a long time to be away, and we are proud to kick off the domestic freeski and snowboard World Cup season in Breckenridge,” said U.S. Ski & Snowboard President and CEO Sophie Goldschmidt. “This is one of 13 World Cup events we have in the U.S. this winter and hosting at a resort with this much history sets the tone for the season.”
“The return of the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix is a proud moment for Breck,” said Jon Copeland, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Breckenridge Ski Resort. “This event reflects the progressive spirit and competitive energy that has long been part of The Kingdom’s history and we’re excited to bring it to life this winter.”
Breckenridge Ski Resort was the first major resort in Colorado to allow snowboarding back in 1984 and has advanced the sport forward with progressive park builds that have served as a training ground for many U.S. athletes. Recently, Breckenridge launched the Kingdom of Breck brand campaign, making it a fitting stage for the world-class slopestyle competition. Charles Beckinsale, one of the most sought-after park builders in the world, will lead the course build.
Freeski slopestyle qualifications begin Thursday, Dec. 10, with snowboard qualifications following on Friday, Dec. 11. Freeski finals face off Saturday, Dec. 12 and snowboard finals conclude the weekend on Sunday, Dec. 13. Spectators are welcome.
The 2026-27 FIS freeski and snowboard World Cup season begins in late November and continues through April 2027, highlighted by the FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships in Montafon, Austria, March 6-21. Domestic World Cup stops include a Toyota U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, CO, Dec. 17-20 and a Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in Aspen, CO, Feb. 25-28.
