Swiss Mountain Award 2027: Submit your project now

The Swiss Mountain Award is entering its next round with a more modern and expanded concept: Several prizes will now be awarded, and Steffi Buchli, the traditional innovation prize of Swiss cable cars, also has a new jury president.

Two new prizes will be awarded:

• Technology and product innovation: – Prize money CHF 10,000, donated by SISAG AG.

• Tourism Innovation and Value Creation: – Marketing Package from Switzerland Tourism

Technology and product innovation

In the Technology and Product Innovation category, projects are sought that demonstrate the further development of the cable car industry and make a clear contribution to safety, efficiency, and future viability. This includes, in particular, innovative technical solutions in the areas of safety, autonomous operation, artificial intelligence, digitalization, energy efficiency, comfort, accessibility, and sustainable resource use. Crucially, the innovation must be implemented in practice, create a demonstrable benefit for businesses and guests, and be transferable to other companies or institutions.

Tourism project

In the Tourism Project category, the focus is on projects that create added value for tourism in the town, the region, and for visitors. In the Mountain Experience category, flagship projects are recognized that enhance the mountain experience and positively position the destination. The Change category considers projects that have successfully implemented an adaptation strategy, thereby contributing to long-term development or ensuring continued existence. The Management category seeks projects that effectively implement future-oriented visitor flow management, convincingly combining nature, visitor needs, regional value creation, and ecological, economic, and social sustainability.

Public tender

The public tender recognizes projects that are groundbreaking for the Swiss cable car industry, showcase innovation, and make a positive contribution to industry development and the industry's image.

Who can participate?

All natural and legal persons are eligible to participate. Applications should relate to a project that concerns the Swiss cable car industry and has already been implemented in practice.
