Review of the General Assembly of the Eastern Switzerland Association of Cable Cars
01/October/2026
At the OSVS General Assembly in Wildhaus, Roger Walser, President and CEO of OSVS, welcomed 24 representatives of member companies. He presented the most important developments of the past fiscal year and emphasized the association's continued strong foundation. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the member companies for their support. He highlighted the OSVS's more than 30-year history and the recently completed chronicle. He also reported on the diverse range of courses and events, the OSVS cable car apprenticeship program, and ongoing tasks in administration, communication, and digital media.
The annual accounts show a loss of CHF 9,876, with revenues of CHF 77,388 and expenses of CHF 87,264. Equity at the end of the year amounts to CHF 65,403.
We are delighted to welcome Flughafen Zürich AG as a new member company. Flughafen Zürich AG operates, among other things, the Skymetro and a funicular railway, and thus brings valuable experience and points of contact in the areas of operations, technology, safety, maintenance, and training.
The president explained the revised statutes from 2010, which had been adapted to current requirements. This applied particularly to the areas of member companies, membership fees, and the powers of the general assembly. The revised statutes were approved unanimously without abstentions.
At the elections, André Huser of the Säntis cable car/Hoher Kasten was elected to the OSVS board as the successor to Marc Bodenmann. Urs Dähler, also of the Säntis cable car, was elected to the auditing committee, succeeding Markus Koster. The outgoing officials were thanked for their many years of voluntary service.
Finally, representatives of Swiss cable cars, namely Benedicta Aregger, Vice Director and Crispin Bieri, Head of Technology, will provide information on current industry topics, including spatial planning, the postulate "20 years of the cable car law", the training initiatives and the technical aids for old-style ski lifts.
The general meeting will conclude with a joint visit to the Klanghaus Toggenburg and an aperitif at the Peter Roth Resonance Center. Many thanks to our host, Urs Gantenbein of the Wildhaus mountain railways, for making this interesting program possible.
