Mitsubishi Electric and FIS announce Nordic skiing partnership for the 2026-27 season

Mitsubishi Electric and the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) have announced a new partnership across Nordic skiing for the 2026-27 season. Mitsubishi Electric will become title partner of the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup, with the competition officially renamed the Mitsubishi Electric FIS Nordic Combined World Cup. It will also become an Official Premium Partner of the FIS Tour de Ski performance by Le Gruyère AOP 2026-27, extending the partnership across two of FIS’ major Nordic disciplines.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to precision, performance and reliability. In Nordic skiing, athletes rely on these qualities to compete in challenging conditions. They also underpin Mitsubishi Electric’s approach as a company, shaping how it applies expertise, pursues innovation and delivers lasting value.

The partnership begins in a landmark season for women’s Nordic Combined. At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, female athletes will compete on the Large Hill for the first time, marking an important step forward for the discipline. The milestone connects naturally with Mitsubishi Electric’s wider work to support women in sport and reflects a shared ambition to give female athletes greater visibility on the international stage.

Kazuhiko Tamura, President & CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. said: “We are proud to partner with FIS and support Nordic skiing across a season that brings together world-class competition, progress and ambition. This partnership gives us a meaningful opportunity to connect more closely with the communities in Northern Europe and Scandinavia in which we live and work, while supporting athletes across the Nordic disciplines.

“We are particularly pleased that the season will include the first women-only Team Sprint in Nordic Combined at a Nordic World Ski Championship, supporting our wider commitment to supporting women in sport.”

“FIS has made it clear that it is doubling down on Nordic Combined, one of the most traditional and demanding of all snow sports disciplines. To keep following through on this commitment, there is nothing more valuable than counting on a partner like Mitsubishi Electric,” says FIS Secretary General Urs Lehmann.

Nordic Combined requires athletes to excel across two very different disciplines, combining versatility with precision and reliability at the highest level. Those qualities make it a natural fit with Mitsubishi Electric and its breadth of world-class heating and cooling technologies and data centre solutions.
