Italian ski instructors sign FISI-Colnaz-AMSI protocol
30/October/2026
Three signatures under a single agreement. In the Berlusconi Hall of the Lombardy Region, during the AMSI National Conference, Flavio Roda for the FISI, Luigi Borgo for the National College of Ski Instructors (Colnaz), and Luciano Stampa for the Association of Italian Ski Instructors (AMSI) formalized a collaboration protocol dedicated to the protection, development, and promotion of the instructor profession, the Italian Ski School, and the practice of alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding.
The document is inspired by the "separation of powers" and "respect for their balanced exercise." Each entity retains its own scope: the Federation oversees sports regulations, ski clubs, committees, instructors, and coaches; Colnaz oversees training, exams, refresher courses, qualifications, and the register, in accordance with Law 81/1991; AMSI oversees members, the national uniform, ski schools, the Gran Premio Giovanissimi, and Interski. On issues relevant to the entire system, the Parties may launch joint initiatives, committing to promote instructor membership in the Federation and the Association.
The operational heart of the agreement is the Permanent Table of the Three Presidents, convened at least three times a year and for any emergency, with the possibility of creating technical working groups. The protocol lasts four years with annual reviews.
"The ultimate goal is the ski instructor," explains Roda. "Since its inception, he has been the point of contact for the resorts, families, and children in particular. The protocol was created around this figure, with very specific commitments. This time, a common ground has truly been found."
Among the open issues, taxation stands out, raised by Borgo: the instructor is a registered professional, "but he teaches the sport, because all our athletes initially went through a ski instructor." Priority is given to seasonal instructors, who are crucial between Christmas, weekends, and ski holidays: "I'm convinced it will be successful, because the three entities are all moving in the same direction."
