29/October/2026
In partnership with the American Red Cross, Deer Valley Resort invites eligible blood donors to lend an arm for a fall blood drive taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Snow Park Lodge.
"We’re proud to partner with the American Red Cross and host a community blood drive,” said Deer Valley Resort President & Chief Operating Officer Todd Bennett. “We encourage those who are eligible to donate to take some time out of their day and join us for a beautiful autumn day in the mountains for a selfless cause.”
The Deer Valley Blood Drive will take place at Snow Park Lodge, Room 2002, at 2250 Deer Valley Dr. in Park City. Donors must be 17 or older (or at least 16 years old with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, and provide a photo ID. Individuals can visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: “DeerValley” to schedule an appointment and check eligibility guidelines.
The Adopt-A-Native-Elder Navajo Rug Show & Sale returns to Deer Valley Resort next month, giving visitors a rare opportunity to meet Navajo weavers, experience traditional Navajo culture, and purchase authentic handwoven rugs, jewelry, baskets, and crafts directly from the Elders who created them. The 3-day event will take place at the resort’s Snow Park Lodge on Nov. 6 – 8, 2026.
“The Adopt-A-Native-Elder Navajo Rug Show & Sale provides a vital opportunity for participating artists to sell their work and support their families in remote areas of the Navajo Nation,” said Deer Valley Resort President & Chief Operating Officer Todd Bennett. “We invite families and friends to come meet Navajo families, learn about their way of life, and consider purchasing their handmade goods to contribute to the Navajo community.”
For four decades, Adopt-A-Native-Elder has served Navajo Elders living on the reservation by delivering food, essential health and hygiene supplies, firewood assistance, emergency assistance, and creating a marketplace for the Elders and their family members to sell their art work where they set their own prices and receive 100% of the proceeds from their sales. The Rug Show & Sale has become one of the organization's most important annual events, creating a marketplace where Elders can earn income from their traditional art work that helps them sustain themselves in their traditional way.
"Forty years ago, this program began with a simple promise to stand beside Navajo Elders and honor their wisdom, culture, and connection to Mother Earth," said Adopt-A-Native-Elder Director of Business and Operations C.J. Robb. "Today, our greatest responsibility is stewarding the trust we have built with the Elders, their families, and their communities over four decades. Every rug woven, every story shared, and every purchase made at this event helps sustain both the Elders and their way of life."
The 2026 Navajo Rug Show & Sale opens Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, with a special VIP Reception preceding the public opening. The reception honors the Navajo weavers and the 40th anniversary of Adopt-A-Native-Elder. Guests will enjoy an evening featuring small plates, cultural presentations, Native flute music, and exclusive early shopping opportunities before the event opens to general ticket holders.
The celebration continues throughout the weekend with free public admission on Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026. Visitors can enjoy traditional singing and dance performances, cultural demonstrations, and browse hundreds of one-of-a-kind handmade rugs, jewelry, baskets, and crafts. Every purchase directly supports the Navajo Elder who created it, with 100% of the proceeds from all handmade goods going directly to the Elders and their families.
