Brian Head Resort Introduces Ski and Snowboard Lessons Starting at $59

Brian Head Resort in southern Utah has had to turn away guests who wanted ski and snowboard lessons. This winter, it's changing its lesson program to accommodate more demand.

The resort has shortened group lessons from 2.5 hours to two hours, increasing daily lesson start times by 50%, from two to three. It's also adding one-hour private lessons and nighttime instruction, giving guests more flexibility to learn while leaving time to ski with family and friends.

Cost is another barrier for beginners. Brian Head offers adult group lessons starting at $59 during March and April, along with free introductory lessons for first-time skiers and snowboarders ages 13 and older on select dates. With group lessons starting at $59 throughout March and April, Brian Head Resort in southern Utah is introducing an expanded ski and snowboard lesson program for the 2026–27 season, offering more daily lesson start times and new instruction options.

New offerings also include one-hour private lessons, four-hour lesson options and private instruction during night skiing.

“We've had guests who wanted to take a lesson, but we simply didn't have room for everyone,” said Pierre Beney, manager of the Winter Sports School at Brian Head Resort. “We want more people to have the chance to learn, whether they're trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time or looking to improve a particular skill.”

Lesson options for the 2026–27 season include:

  • Adult group lessons: Two- and four-hour ski and snowboard lessons for ages 13 and older. Two-hour sessions start at $59 throughout March and April.

  • Youth group lessons: Two-, four- and six-hour ski and snowboard lessons for children ages 7 to 12, with two-hour sessions starting at $109.

  • Private lessons: New one- and four-hour options join existing two- and six-hour lessons. One-hour sessions start at $139 for children ages 3 to 6 and $149 for guests ages 7 and older. Private lessons for ages 7 and older accommodate up to six guests, with each additional guest costing $79.

  • Night lessons: New two-hour private ski and snowboard lessons for all ability levels on terrain served by Chair 3 and the beginner conveyor belt. Lessons accommodate up to six guests on select nights.

  • Tiny Tracks: A new small-group ski program for children ages 5 to 8 who can already make controlled turns and safely ride chairlifts. Limited to three children per lesson, the program helps young skiers progress to more challenging terrain.
