Aprica Sets 28 November Opening for 2026–27 Ski Season
28/October/2026
Aprica is preparing to open its lifts and pistes on 28 November, with a new four-seater chairlift near Lago Palabione expected to be ready by the end of October and discounted season-pass sales beginning later this month.
The Lombardy resort has set 19 October as the start of season-pass pre-sales and Saturday 28 November as the planned opening date for the 2026–27 winter season. The announcement gives skiers and snowboarders a first look at the resort’s plans, which combine familiar family pricing with a major lift investment.
The new chairlift will serve the Lago Palabione area and is expected to be completed by the end of October. Its arrival is one of the principal infrastructure changes for the coming winter, as Aprica continues to improve the efficiency and comfort of its lift network. The project is part of a longer-term effort to maintain the resort’s competitiveness in a market where modern lifts and reliable access are increasingly important to visitors.
Aprica’s ski area covers the slopes of Aprica and neighbouring Corteno Golgi, offering more than 50 kilometres of alpine pistes. The resort is positioned on the Orobie side of the Alps at around 1,172 metres, and serves both holidaymakers and local skiers attracted by its relatively compact, accessible layout.
Season-pass pre-sales will run from 19 October to 4 November at reduced rates. The pass will cover skiing throughout the winter on the Aprica and Corteno Golgi pistes, with five additional days included at the Ponte di Legno–Tonale ski area. The arrangement gives passholders access to a larger regional offering while retaining Aprica as their primary base.
The “Piano Famiglia” will return for households purchasing at least three season passes, providing an additional discount. Age-based pricing will also apply, with concessions for seniors born before 1961, juniors born between 2010 and 2018, and babies born from 2019 onwards.
The pre-sale process will follow the system used in previous seasons. Customers must email their request to skipass@impiantisita.it, attaching identification documents for each applicant. The skipass office will then send confirmation and bank-transfer instructions.
Passes can be collected from the ticket office on 30 and 31 October, and on 1, 7 and 8 November. Customers will also be able to buy season passes directly at the ticket office on those dates while still benefiting from the pre-sale conditions. Online ticketing will remain available throughout the season, using dynamic pricing and promotional offers.
The five Ponte di Legno–Tonale days are an important part of the offer. Ponte di Legno–Tonale is a larger connected ski destination in the central Italian Alps, extending from the lower resort of Ponte di Legno to the high-altitude Passo Tonale and Presena Glacier. Its inclusion gives Aprica passholders the opportunity to experience a substantially different alpine environment, including higher terrain and more extensive lift links.
Aprica’s investment programme comes as ski areas across the Alps seek to modernise ageing infrastructure and improve the guest experience. New chairlifts can increase uphill capacity, reduce waiting times and provide more comfortable access, while also helping resorts manage demand more efficiently during peak periods.
The resort has experience of using lift investment as part of its wider development strategy. Earlier projects included the reconstruction and extension of the Magnolta chairlift, which was intended to improve access on that side of the ski area and support a broader upgrade of Aprica’s infrastructure.
The upcoming season will also be watched in the context of snow reliability. At a time when Alpine resorts are investing in snowmaking, lift modernisation and year-round tourism, an opening date alone does not guarantee full terrain availability. The final number of pistes and lifts operating on 28 November will depend on snow conditions, preparation and any required technical approvals.
For now, Aprica is presenting the new season as a combination of continuity and renewal: a familiar family-friendly pass structure, access to neighbouring Ponte di Legno–Tonale and a new chairlift serving the Palabione sector.
If construction and final preparations remain on schedule, the first turns of the 2026–27 season will take place on 28 November, with the new Lago Palabione lift helping to define Aprica’s next winter chapter.
