60th Annual Gold Medal Gala Raises Millions to Support Athletes Ahead of 2026-27 Season
31/October/2026
U.S. Ski & Snowboard hosted its 60th annual Gold Medal Gala at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City, raising nearly $3 million to directly support the organization’s 12 teams and more than 240 athletes.
The evening celebrated Team USA’s Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic medalists alongside sport legends dating back to the 1960s. More than 450 guests attended, including 27 current athletes across the Stifel U.S. Ski Team, Toyota U.S. Snowboard Team and Stifel U.S. Freeride Team, along with more than a dozen former athletes representing each era from the 1960s to 2010s.
Attending athletes included three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, 2014 Olympic silver medalist Gus Kenworthy and 2026 Olympic and Paralympic gold medalists Jake Adicoff, Kate Delson, Noah Elliott, Alex Ferreira, Breezy Johnson, Liz Lemley, Chris Lillis and Josh Sweeney. 1998 Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Ski & Snowboard alum Jonny Moseley hosted the evening.
The program's highlight was an on-stage conversation hosted by multiple-time Grand Slam tennis champion Rennae Stubbs with Olympic champion Breezy Johnson, two-time Olympic silver medalist Ryan Cochran-Siegle and 1972 Olympic slalom champion Barbara Ann Cochran, Cochran-Siegle’s mother. J.Crew and The North Face also held a fashion show, debuting the U.S. Ski & Snowboard x J.Crew and U.S. Ski & Snowboard x The North Face lines – both set to go live in the coming months.
“For 60 years, the Gold Medal Gala has brought together the people who make our athletes’ success possible,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, president and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. “Seeing our Milano Cortina medalists share the room with the legends and alumni who helped build our legacy shows how each generation builds on the last. Thank you to our donors, partners, trustees, alumni board members and Gala co-chairs for supporting our athletes as they begin the 2026-27 season.”
Guests contributed through table purchases, a live paddle raise and a silent auction. All proceeds directly benefit U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes, who began their World Cup tour Saturday with the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team kicking off the season in Sölden, Austria.
