Winter 2026-27 Parking Reservations Now Open at Palisades Tahoe, New Reservation Platform Offers Improved Features and Functionality

With the winter season set to get underway in a few weeks, Palisades Tahoe has opened its parking reservation platform, giving resort guests the opportunity to book reservations in advance for parking on weekends and holidays. This season, the resort improved its online reservation platform with enhanced features and functionality based on guest feedback, and all users must create a new account before making reservations.

As in past years, most parking reservations will be free all season, with reservations for the coming weekend released each week, starting December 1. A small number of paid-in-advance spots are available for $30 per day for those who prefer to reserve well in advance. Resort employees will always have a guaranteed space but are encouraged to carpool or make use of other shared transportation options.

“As we continue to refine our parking and transportation strategy, we remain focused on reducing regional roadway congestion and environmental impacts, improving access, and supporting our community,” said Mike Martin, Palisades Tahoe vice president of base operations. “The results of this program over the past three years have demonstrated that with strong participation and continued innovation, we are successfully shifting transportation-related behavior.”

The parking reservation system lets Palisades Tahoe manage capacity precisely and give guests certainty before they arrive. By assigning parking in advance, the resort has eliminated the gridlock that once defined peak days, reduced the need for early morning arrivals, and dramatically improved commute times from Truckee and Tahoe City. Guests can now plan ahead, confirm parking availability, or opt for alternative transportation—resulting in smoother arrival patterns, improved traffic flow, and reduced impacts on surrounding roadways and communities.

Alternative Transportation and Other Free Parking Options

Palisades Tahoe also works closely with regional partners to provide alternative transportation and free parking options for those seeking other ways to access Palisades Tahoe. This includes:

  • Mountaineer offers free, on-demand winter transportation within Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows. View the schedule and request a ride at mountaineertransit.org.

  • Free Park and Ride service runs from Truckee and Tahoe City, with frequent rides between 6:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on weekends and some holidays. View the schedule at tnttma.com.

  • Booking a full-day private lesson with Palisades Tahoe includes a complimentary same-day parking reservation (if over a weekend or holiday).

  • Guests who stay in The Village at Palisades receive complimentary access to park one vehicle in the heated, underground parking.

The Best Way to Save
