Swedish Ski Association nominates Karin Mattsson to the FIS Council

The Swedish Ski Association's board has decided to nominate Karin Mattsson for continued assignment on the FIS Council. Karin Mattsson is already a member of the FIS Council, the nomination is based on a renewed trust based on her work and contributions to date and in the board's assessment that she can also create concrete value for Swedish skiing and snowboarding in the future.

The assignment in the FIS Council requires international credibility, a long-term perspective and the ability to build relationships in an environment where influence is created through trust, continuity and cooperation. Against this background, the board assesses that Karin Mattsson has the potential to continue representing Sweden in a constructive and strategic manner.

"The board has made a comprehensive and well-founded assessment. Karin Mattsson has demonstrated good international cooperation skills through her work in the FIS Council. The board therefore continues to have confidence in her potential to contribute both to the development of FIS and to strengthening Sweden's international position," says Maria Krafft Helgesson, acting chairman of the Swedish Ski Association.

Karin Mattsson comments on the nomination "I hope for renewed confidence and look forward to continuing to contribute with a Swedish perspective and to working for a strong, modern and sustainable development of international skiing and snowboarding"

The nomination is also about ensuring continued Swedish presence in the FIS Council and strengthening Sweden's opportunities to influence international decisions, which in the long term have great significance for the conditions for Swedish skiing and snowboarding.
