19/May/2026
Following a thorough search process, Snow Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Ben Bond as the organisation’s new General Manager - Sport.
Bond returns to Snow Australia to take on the role vacated by Ben Wordsworth, following his appointment as Chief Executive Officer earlier this year.
As part of the Snow Australia leadership team, Bond will oversee the High-Performance Pathway, providing the strategic direction for the sport’s Olympic and Paralympic disciplines.
Bond brings extensive experience to the position, having previously served at Snow Australia as Talent, Health and Pathway Manager, before moving to the Australian Institute of Sport in an advisory role, where he consulted closely with National Sporting Organisations to strengthen their performance pathway strategies and frameworks.
Snow Australia CEO Ben Wordsworth said Bond’s strong reputation within the Snow Australia community, combined with his experience across pathways, development and high-performance, positions him to make a significant contribution.
“We are delighted to welcome Ben Bond to the General Manager – Sport role. He brings the strategic mindset, high-performance expertise and stakeholder credibility this role demands, and his appointment strengthens an already outstanding team,” Wordsworth said.
“Ben will lead the alignment between our athlete pathways, discipline programs, national teams and our partners across the Australian high-performance system. His leadership will be central to building on the momentum of Milano-Cortina 2026 and driving sustained international success.”
“I’m excited to be returning to Snow Australia after a valuable period at the Australian Institute of Sport. The Winter High-Performance sector is entering an important period of growth and opportunity, and I believe there is no better time to lead this part of the organisation into its next phase. I’m looking forward to working closely with athletes, coaches, staff and key partners across the system,” Bond said.
Bond’s appointment reflects Snow Australia's commitment to building a world-class high-performance system in the lead-up to future Olympic and Paralympic cycles. He will commence in the role on 9 June.
