Ski Team Sweden Alpine starts technical product collaboration with Bosch
22/May/2026
he Swedish Alpine National Team is starting a new collaboration with Bosch to raise the level of technical equipment in training activities. Through the collaboration, the coaching staff will have access to the best possible drilling machines for track laying, while Bosch will be able to test its products in extremely challenging environments in cold, snow and ice.
The coaching staff in all national teams, from the World Cup to the European Cup, as well as other alpine training groups in the Swedish Ski Association's operations, will be part of the collaboration. There are around 20 coaches and service personnel who, on a daily basis and almost all year round, primarily use the drilling machines and special drill bits to drill into snow and ice to lay tracks for training and competition, as well as for ski service. Since ski training is conducted outdoors in a tough winter environment with sub-zero temperatures, demanding weather such as snowfall and rain, often on glaciers located at an altitude of several thousand meters, the machines will be put to the test. In addition, the teams travel with all their equipment around the world by plane and car, which puts even more strain on the products.
"As a national team, we use drills daily during training, so that they work well in all conditions is critical to achieving developmental training for our active players. We now have access to the best drill products in our operations, it fits very well with our goal of being the best in the world," says national team manager Per Jonsson.
"We are very proud to start this collaboration with the Swedish Alpine National Team. By combining our technical expertise with the Alpine National Team's pursuit of the highest performance, we look forward to creating innovative solutions together that make a real difference – both on and off the slopes. The collaboration also gives us unique testing opportunities in a demanding environment where our products are truly put to the test, while gaining valuable insights that drive our development forward. For Bosch, this partnership is an important investment in future technology, sustainability and performance at the highest level," says Henrik Nilsson, Bosch Powertools Sweden.
In addition to drills, Bosch has a wide range of products and even at the start of the collaboration, it has been shown that there are new creative opportunities for product development together.
"We are already seeing new ideas popping up together with Bosch, which has a wide range and is interested in close collaboration with us that will further develop both of our businesses. I look forward to the positive effects this can have for both of us over time", continues Per Jonsson.
Carl Hård af Segerstad, Sales and Marketing Manager at Ski Team Sweden Alpine, sees great opportunities in the collaboration with Bosch: "It is gratifying for us to have the opportunity to work with a strong brand with high-quality products. The fact that our coaches get to work with good stuff makes their job both more fun and better, and that more awake time is spent helping the skiers develop. This is clear evidence that strong companies see the value in Swedish skiing."
The collaboration between Bosch and Ski Team Sweden Alpine extends over three years until the 2027/28 season.
